Construction Completed on Cathedral of the Resurrection

GOTHENBURG -- Construction has been completed on Aloia's newest cathedral, the Cathedral of the Resurrection in Gothenburg, and dedication services have been held. Queen Victoria III and Chancellor John Mark Nelson attended the service, alongside Archbishop of Uppsala Eric Aurelius and other Church of Aloia leaders.

The new cathedral was built after a fire tore through the old Cathedral of the Resurrection. 2017 also marks the 250th anniversary of the elevation of the Diocese of Gothenburg to Archdiocese. The dedication of the new cathedral is part of the Archdiocese's year of Jubilee. This cathedral is a center of joy and celebration in Aloia, in the midst of an era of such uncertainty and distress.

    Path Towards Development

Ireland is a developing nation set back by years of political instability in the nation. However this has not stopped the Irish people from wanting to advance. With the political climate finally settling down enough to make actual change happen the government has been at work since the opening of Parliament. Today, the first of many plans to revitalize and develop Ireland passed the nation's parliament and was given royal assent. The "Irish Building Restoration Act" passed parliament 404-306. This bill puts 32 Billion Euros into rebuilding and restoring many of Ireland's historic buildings such as dublin Castle, the stronghold of Zach colonization in Ireland, and Leinster House the seat of the Irish Parliament. However the money will not go directly to the rebuilding efforts but rather towards a third-party construction company that has been hired to carry out the operations. When asked the
Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Heather Lacombe said "This allows the process to be cheaper, more effective, create more jobs, and put less of a burden on the Irish people."

However, this has had much criticism from other MP's who voted against it. Most notably Leader of the Opposition Destiny Richards who said "I don't know where the Government gets the idea that this helps the Irish people. If the government itself were to do it the process would cost around 22 Billion Euros. It would create more jobs and make sure these jobs are filled by Irish people. It would make it to where it would get done n time. With this company how can we trust them with something as important as this when we haven't even vetted them/ This was a very reckless move by the Government."

ANTI-ABORTIST PROTEST IN HEINRICHSTADT ENDS WITH MASS ARRESTS

    Heinrichstadt.
It was defined as "the most massive popular reaction against the ideological colonization of those pro-death activists" by many of its supporters; the organizers labelled it "a genuine response against the so-called pro-choice, which is against-life"; but, at the end, it became solely the greatest mass arrest in Tarajani history since a decade.
What happened in Heinrichstadt, capital city of the County of Gravan (also known as County of Heinrichstadt) was surely a surprise for the organizers of the rally of protest which gathered yesterday morning in front of the Jivash General Hospital. The goal was to protest against the first abortion made in the Hospital, authorized while a State law is still under discussion at the County Diet. Here, Count Philippe IV Van Aardenne, recently elevated to the throne after the death of his father Philippe III, immediately pushed forward a legislation aimed at eliminating all obstacles to abortion, aligning the Gravan legislation to federal laws which already provide for full freedom of abortion for women.
The news, however, was ill-welcomed, to say the least, by many members of pro-life organizations, who saw the small county as one of the their last strongholds in their struggle against pro-choice activism. So, they decided to protest in front of the hospital, before moving directly toward the County Diet, where the law was being discussed. Three thousands people (the numbers come from official police reports) gathered (the organizers affirm they were at least ten thousands), and the protest went on peacefully, until the evening: evidently, the protesters had hoped that their presence may have been a deterrent against the completion of the abortion procedure at the Jivash, but that was not clearly the case. The procedure was carried on nonetheless, and also the Diet was going to reach the majority needed to pass the new law. When such news reached the crowd, conflict erupts: crying that it was "a crime against humanity and the sanctity of life" and "a sin against God", the crowd starts launching molotovs against the building of the Diet. A fire erupted, and the Diet was forcibly evacuated.
Then, the police attacked: with a direct order by the Count himself, the police was ordered to surround and arrest all the protesters. The results have been seven hours of fights between protesters and the police; after that, 2.567 people have been declared under police custody, now awaiting for trial with heavy accusations: attempted murder, arsonism, vandalism, and so on.
Also, today morning, in front of the Diet convened directly at Castle Van Aardenne, his official residence (which will host the works of the legislative organ until the Diet building will not be restored), Count Philippe IV announced a total crackdown of all pro-life organizations in the county; an operation which will see the direct participation also of the KKP (standing for Korps Koninklijke politiediensten, the Royal Police Services Agency, Tarajani federal police).

What could look at first as an excessive response to a protest, is in realty the result of a long-standing pressure: pro-life activists, usually members of christian communities which actively support them, have become in the last years more and more violent, in Heinrichstadt as in other southern States (where christians are still a persistent minority). Through intimidation, psychological and even physical violence, those groups tried to impose their own view: only last month, two young girls were attacked in Heinrichstadt itself after they decided to abort in a private clinic and their families were threatened; an office of the federal Ministry of Health and Welfare, accused of promoting abortion, was burned to the ground. These and other similar attacks led the authorities to define pro-life movements as a "threat to the security of Tarajani citizens".
As for now, for sure in Heinrichstadt that will not be a problem anymore.

Aloian Churches Call for Peace, Reconciliation

In the wake of violent clashes between pro-life protesters and pro-choice activists in New Tarajan, Aloia's main churches have issued a common statement calling for peace. The Church of Aloia was represented by Bishop Nadia Weber of Denver, the Presbyterian Church in Aloia was represented by Rev. Joel Erickson of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis, and the Free Lutheran Church of Aloia was represented by Rev. Francis Haugen, President of Augsburg College.

"As Christians we're called to love our enemies, to pray for our persecutors," Bishop Weber said. She directed one statement to members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Tarajan. "As Lutherans we've got an obligation to respect the two-kingdoms doctrine. God has put this government in place for your good. Living in democratic countries, we have the opportunity to influence the political process peacefully."

The churches also affirmed their common views on the sanctity of life. "We do believe that life begins at conception," Rev. Haugen of the FLCA said. "We're blessed to live in Aloia, where that value is also held by our government, and we urge our brothers and sisters throughout the world to peacefully advocate to their government for life."

Rev. Erickson concluded the document, saying, "Christianity's main mark is our love, love for each other and love for all people. The world is watching you to judge Christianity and violence in protests is anti-Christian. We call on our brothers and sisters to remember the words of our Lord. Allow the Holy Spirit to produce His fruits in you: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Remember gentleness and self-control."

    TARAJANI ELECTIONS SANCTION LIBERAL VICTORY
Duke Bernhard Van Aardenne-Gliefen new Prime Minister

Duke Bernhard Van Aardenne-Gliefen after the results.

    Astana.
The Tarajani elections have come to a rather unexpected end, when tonight the results were finally unveiled by the Election Commission: the Blue Party, representative of the liberal left wing of the Royal Diet, achieved a stunning success, reaching a majority of 55% votes all over the country. A fall back for the right-wing Koninklijk Tarajani Conservatief Partij (KTCP) , led by Prime Minister Count Carl Van Houden, who saw itself positioned at the second place (23,4%), followed by the Tarajani Sociaal-Democratische Partij (TSDP) at the third position (21%), and the remaning 0,6% reserved for the Republican Party and few other local formations.
Analysts predicted an almost sure victory of the KTCP, strengthened by what appeared to be a regained trust between Van Houden and King Friederick Wilhelm. However, at the end the Blue Party managed to overcome its long-standing rival for the first time since the fall of Wali Esther Farah Rumaki as Prime Minister. The liberal party saw a recent change in leadership, with Rumaki leaving the reins to one of his most prominent collaborators, Bernhard Van Aardenne-Gliefen, duke of Mersen, in the Principality of Merlberg: son of one of the most ancient and powerful aristocratic families in the Kingdom (being a cadet branch of the powerful House Van Aardenne of the Counts of Gravan), Duke Bernhard managed to achieve a success which eluded his predecessor for years.
Many are already wondering what the main reasons for such a stunning victory are. Someone is pointing to the weakness showed in domestic affairs by Van Houden during the last semester; others to the will of a stronger, collaborative foreign policy for the Kingdom. Nevertheless, the victory is clear, as pointed out by Van Aardenne-Gliefen himself: "Today, the people of New Tarajan have chosen a new way: a liberal way, which will promote prosperity, development, and freedom for all."
The Royal Diet will convene tomorrow, to formally proclaim Duke Van Aardenne-Gliefen as its candidate. Then, he will meet the King at the Royal Palace, where he will (eventually) receive the formal appointment by King Friederick Wilhelm. And the Royal Court itself is, for now, silent: respecting the tradition of the King not interfering with the electoral process, King Friederick Wilhelm has expressed no opinion on this victory yet. It is in his powers, however, to accept or refuse the indications of the Diet. However, many analysts are already guessing that the designation of a liberal prime minister falls exactly inside the plans of the Court: it was Friederick Wilhelm who appointed his cousin (then-head of the Blues, Marquis Conrad Van Vinkel) as first Tarajani prime minister in more than half a century; it was him who supported Esther Farah Rumaki during a series of difficult international crises; it was him who saw the victory of the extreme-right as a defeat of the Liberal Project, and tried (successfully) to move the Regeneratie Partij to more moderate stances, transforming it into the KTCP. A liberal victory right now is probably the best the King could expect.
It's now to be seen how the situation will evolve.

Queen Victoria to tour rural Mariana, Pomerania, Westphalia

SAINT PETERSBURG -- Queen Victoria and family are in Saint Petersburg today at the beginning of a week-long tour of Aloia's four southwestern states. The states' coastal cities include ancient Baltic League cities like Riga, Tallinn, Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Saint Petersburg, Kronstadt, Danzig, and Konigsberg.

Saint Petersburg, whose nickname is "the second capital", is a short drive or ferry ride across the Kronstadt Straits from Zumbrota. The city is full of traditional Aloian architecture and is considered an older twin of Aloia's capital. Saint Petersburg is the largest city in the southwest peninsula. Together with Zumbrota's metropolitan area, the Free City of Saint Petersburg and its suburbs actually form the most populous urban agglomeration in Aloia. Kronstadt, a city in Saint Petersburg state on an island between Saint Petersburg and Zumbrota, has hosted the Aloian Royal Navy for hundreds of years.

The primary language historically spoken in Mariana was Lettish, an Indo-Slavic language, very distinct from the Germanic languages spoken throughout the rest of Aloia. Though most of the state is rural, Mariana has two large and historic cities: Riga and Tallinn.

Pomerania, Westphalia, and Saint Petersburg state all have historically spoken German, but as in the rest of Aloia, English has taken over all the urban centers and the traditional languages have become secondary languages. Pomerania's capital is Kongisberg and Westphalia's capital is Dortmund. Westphalia's largest city is Dusseldorf and together with Dortmund and Augsburg, Saxony, the three cities form one major urban agglomeration separated by the Baltic Sea's straits.

Since the fall of Texania, Mariana has been in a recession, as trade with Texania was a major driver of their economy. Mariana has also felt nervous about security, considering its land border with Texania and location just across Saint Mary's Gulf from the Young Proletariat's territory. The queen's visit is seen as a public relations trip, with the goal of re-inflating the people's confidence in their government and military. Aloia's control of the straits at Kronstadt and the other straits at Uppsala (the Kattegat) have stopped all of the Marxist government's sea trade and foreign military support.

ROADS BUILT IN ITALICA AND LINDUM

The Ministry of Transportation has reported that new roads will, at some point in the near or distant future, be likely built in the two provinces of Italica and Lindum. Both nestled against the Cytherean Sea and surrounded on three sides by New Zealand, the provinces are remnants of Eurasian naval bases and holdings in centuries past. Now, they serve as vacation destinations and continue to be naval bases. It is said the Emperor owns villas in both. It is also said that at least three people live in each province, though the Census cannot confirm nor deny this.

    INFRASTRUCTURE OF PONTEVEDRA UPGRADED

The Guilin Hills of Pontevedra Province

CANTON, PONTEVEDRA PROVINCE == After a tour of the twelve counties of Pontevedra through underfunded roads and trails, the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers have bypassed the National Senate to order funding by the Minister of Transportation to improve the quality of the roads in Pontevedra. Being the most mountainous province in Arveyres, it is often easier to get from place to place by boat, as most major cities are on the coast. Utilizing existing provincial canals, it is not difficult to navigate the country solely by water, but crossing mountains, especially across the County of Tibet, has proven a challenge.

    DUKE NICO ARRIVES IN MYSTRAS
Sultan Ioannis IX Welcomes Son-In-Law to Capital

Mystras, Morea: Security was out in force this morning as His Anointed Majesty Sultan Ioannis IX personally welcomed Duke Nico II Baumbach of Montferrat to Mystras. This is His Excellency’s first visit to Morea since celebrating his marriage to our own Crown Princess Aikaterini, who remains at home in Riesa, as well as his first visit to the Achaian capital. Police blocked off the Street of the Martyrs from midnight last night until four o’clock this afternoon to ensure the safety and security of His Majesty and his guest, as well as their attendants, whose initial procession from Sultana Anna Kallergis Airport to Kallimarmaro Cathedral took the better part of two hours. Further processionals followed as the royals and their entourages made their way to the Blue Palace for a closed-door meeting.

His Excellency the Duke continues to attract attention from nobles and common Achaians alike, in large part due to his sudden appearance in Morea last year at His Anointed Majesty’s personal invitation. At that time, His Majesty the Sultan described Duke Nico as a personal friend and a strong ally to Morea, and his homeland of Montferrat was likewise described as “the linchpin of Morea’s future.” Nonetheless, observers initially dismissed these compliments as diplomatic platitudes, and were caught totally by surprise when His Excellency the Duke returned to Montferrat with Her Highness Princess Aikaterini on his arm. Spokesmen for the Blue Palace clarified the situation by announcing Her Highness’s marriage to Duke Nico during his brief visit, but no further reasoning was forthcoming. On the contrary, later that week His Majesty the Sultan appeared before the press to announce that, as of the Duke’s marriage to his daughter, Her Highness the Princess was made Crown Princess of Morea and the Achaian people, supplanting her younger brothers in the line of succession. Sources in and around the royal family have declined to answer any further questions about this remarkable event.

Duke Nico’s return to Morea has been a subject of speculation since it was announced two months ago. As the consort of the future sultana, His Excellency’s policies have become a matter of intense debate in political and media circles, and the connection between Montferrat and Morea remains elusive to any and all outside observers. Neither His Majesty the Sultan nor any of his representatives have made any reference to Montferrat in public prior to last year’s surprise wedding. In the year since the event, Achaian journalists and other interested parties have investigated any possible connection between the Duchy and Morea, to no avail. This otherwise-picturesque result of Duresian cultural diffusion has provided no evidence at all to explain the sudden radical shift in our Sultanate’s inheritance law.

Duke Nico II’s visit to Mystras is scheduled to continue for three days, during which he will meet with Bishop Akakios VII, a litany of civil officials, and the heads of several branches of the Kallergis family. The Monitor understands that His Excellency will not be answering questions from the press during this time.

    Redwood National Forest Expanded

MARIPOSA, Pampas -- The Ministry of the Interior announced the completion of a massive phase of land acquisition in northern Pampas and Tahoe for the expansion of Redwood National Park. Most of the newly acquired land lies in the foothills of the Santa Catarina Mountains. Together with state parks in Tahoe and Pampas, almost all of Aloia's territory in the natural range of the Argentine Redwood is now permanently protected. The Argentine Redwood is the tallest tree species in the world and is found throughout north and west Diamanto.

BISHOP AKAKIOS PRESENTS SECOND PETITION AS ECONOMIC SITUATION WORSENS
Immigration Causing Increased Economic Damage, Bishop Claims

Mystras, Morea: As matters abroad become increasingly chaotic and unverifiable, His Anointed Majesty Sultan Ioannis IX Kallergis and His Holiness Bishop Akakios IV Doukas appear set for the second clash in a month over the matter of Morean immigration. Bishop Akakios has long attempted to strengthen border controls in this country, and has publicly denounced the current lax border policy enforced by the Sultanate’s officials for its moral effects on the Achaian people. Earlier this month the Bishop of Mystras presented a petition to tighten restrictions on immigration to Morea from abroad, citing the moral character of the numerous refugees entering the country as a result of wars in Naskigo and Ekstera; Sultan Ioannis responded by telling the Church to remember its mission of compassion and to treat the influx of non-Christian migrants as an opportunity to save additional souls. Now, however, Bishop Akakios has presented a second petition with a totally different argument: Immigration is causing economic difficulties at a time when Morea can least afford them.

Earlier today the already-confused situation in New-Zealand became entirely incomprehensible after the New-Zealand First Lady and Arveyrean Princess Elaena appeared in two places at once with wildly different messages for her audiences, broadcasting a message of resistance against the Empire of Eurasia while on the run in New-Zealand, only to make a formal appearance in Arveyres to thank the Eurasian-led coalition for bringing down her husband’s government. With no objective source to determine which of these women, if either, is the true Elaena Vergara Garagen, outside observers and even nations within the invading coalition have begun to question the events that have prompted the current violence.

In particular, the Federal Aristocratic Kingdom of New Tarajan, which was implicated in the underground broadcast featuring “Elaena of the Resistance,” has fallen into political turmoil as it questions its newly-pledged involvement in the coalition’s invasion. The influential Eindhoven Stock Exchange reacted with predictable calamity, prompting an emergency closure that has sent yet another shock into a world market already sliding in the event of war between the two largest nations in Esamir. The result to Morea in particular has been all but devastating.

This same war, of course, has displaced thousands of people from throughout New-Zealand, including from areas still suffering hardship due to New-Zealand’s own expansion earlier this year. On the subject of these earlier refugees, the Sultanate government, under His Anointed Majesty’s personal direction, has already requested from several affected nations that their unwanted visitors be redirected to Morea, which has promised to take them in. Elements of the Achaian military and several Achaian civilian organizations have already been dispatched to New-Zealand in entirely non-combat roles, in order to recover as many refugees or would-be migrants as possible and bring them safely to Morea. Sultan Ioannis has publicly declared his intention to make Morea a home to “the masses fleeing from violence and desperate for succor,” without qualification. A similar program has been underway in Montferrat since His Excellency Duke Nico II Baumbach took Achaian Crown Princess Aikaterini as his wife last year, as His Anointed Majesty made clear that such efforts would reflect well on the Duchy of Montferrat and the Christian religion that our lands and peoples share. While the duchy has made out well in this experiment, Morea’s more ambitious designs have likely attracted the attention of thousands, and perhaps millions, who are currently desperate for food and shelter. With friendly partners such as Aloia and Duresia redirecting their own refugees to Morea, and with Achaian agents actively searching for more, there is no firm limit to the projected influx of refugees in the near future.

Duke Nico II has implemented suggestions from the Blue Palace as part of his marriage agreement. Source: N. Rosberg Agency, Montferrat

Bishop Akakios was firm in his address to Sultan Ioannis: “Our people are not prepared to starve for the sake of foreigners with nothing to offer us. Morea is not a charity. It is a state built to serve the Achaian people, and it has a duty toward its own that cannot be brushed aside at the monarch’s whim. Christian charity and generosity must first extend to those who accept the Word of Christ; to withdraw that generosity, provided as the Sultanate’s solemn duty, from those who know the Lord in favor of those who refuse to see Him is utterly wrong.”

Sultan Ioannis accepted His Excellency’s petition in the Blue Palace and has promised a formal response in the coming days. However, His Anointed Majesty said to Bishop Akakios in the public hearing, “I do not anticipate granting you this any more than I did last time.”

    King Frédéric Returns Home Early

The king's private jet arriving at Vedois Airport in Besançon

After being invited to spend the weeks ahead of the holidays in Astana, King Frédéric IV has chosen to return to his home in Besançon and has summoned the senate in a surprise move.

The king is symbolically asked to leave the senate floor after the first day when it has returned from its recess each year. However, as he is still a member of the body, he has the ability to summon them to discuss issues related to foreign policy. This has come as the situation in the Blukon becomes ever more unstable, and the question of Marquette's involvement will test the senate's true dedication to the new aggressive foreign policy King Frédéric and Chancellor Charpentier have adopted. Whatever the case, Marquette is not likely to take unilateral measures.

Nelson called into sudden royal meeting

ZUMBROTA -- Chancellor John Mark Nelson was reportedly called into an unexpected audience with Queen Victoria early this morning, in the midst of a growing scandal surrounding Nelson's decision to involve Aloia in international military intervention in New Zealand. Such an action by Queen Victoria is extremely abnormal and royal commentators have said it's likely a sign that the monarch is asking for resignation. This follows a humiliating defeat for Aloia: Aloian forces, reinforced by East Texania, entered New Zealand's heavily defended northern regions, taking heavy losses. The AL-ETX forces were eventually force to withdraw back into East Texania after having their positions overrun and receiving little to no support from the other coalition nations.

Vice Chancellor Sebastian Gill is technically next in line to the Chancery, however he has said in the past that he would resign before ever accepting the position, making Senate President Rupinder Khan Strand likely the next Chancellor, if Queen Victoria does call for Nelson's resignation. International observers have said this may be the first of many heads of government to lose their positions as a result of this botched invasion.

MONTFERRAT: RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES SENDING WORRY THROUGH DUCHY MILITARY
Sultanate-Duchy Joint Policies Now At Risk

Riesa, Montferrat: Just days after Duke Nico II Baumbach and Sultan Ioannis IX Kallergis of Achaian Morea issued a joint statement detailing plans to coordinate economic and technological developments in their two realms, Duke’s Minister David Augustin warned that implementing the new policy would possibly lead to trouble in the Sultanate. In particular, Minister Augustin stated that sharing services between the two nations, especially the military, would open the door to religious conflict.

“His Anointed Majesty rules a strictly-Christian nation,” the Duke’s Minister said to the press this morning. “We here in Montferrat also maintain the faith of our fathers and uphold the truth of Scripture and the Church, but we have never been as strict to correct others in their false worship as perhaps we should have done. Our military in particular hosts a variety of religions in the lower rank and file, as a result of Montferrat’s recruitment policy—which is an absolute necessity, I’ll add, for a state of our small size. The Sultanate may have to choose between having the use of only the Riesa Guards and accepting the religious multiplicity inherent in the Montferrat military.”

This announcement is likely to add to the tension in Mystras between Sultan Ioannis and Bishop Akakios IV Doukas, who have repeated butted heads over the issue of Morea’s immigration policy. The bishop was quick to respond to the minister’s announcement from his seat in Kallimarmaro Cathedral, where a crowd of parishioners listened in the nave and in Plateia Varnava outside. “Is it not enough that we Achaians are asked to bear this influx of heathens from abroad without a murmur?” he asked. “Grudgingly, perhaps, we would have accepted the Sultan’s word, and worked to bring these people to the light as he suggested. But we would have done so, I think, secure in the knowledge that the true defense of our faith remained as pure as ever! Now it is the Sultan’s will that we rely on the arms of devilish unbelievers to spread the Word of God!”

The Blue Palace also released a statement in response to Minister Augustin’s concerns, encouraging Duke Nico to begin proselytizing non-Christians in his realm and to present his armed forces with an oath binding them to uphold the Christian religion regardless of their own beliefs. Regarding non-Christians deploying to Morea, however, the statement said only, “Let them come.”

    MONTFERRAT WELCOMES SULTANATE PRIESTS
Pagans of Eastern Norda to Receive Gospel “In Due Course”

Riesa, Montferrat: In response to warnings from Duke’s Minister David Augustin that Montferrat’s religiously-mixed military would prompt a difficult adjustment when deployed in the service of the Sultanate of Morea, twenty-one Christian prelates have arrived in the capital of Montferrat from various cities and religious centers in the Sultanate as part of an organized push by Sultan Ioannis IX Kallergis, Duke Nico II Baumbach of Montferrat, and Bishop Akakios IV Doukas of Mystras to homogenize the religious observances of all peoples and nations so closely associated with the Achaian people. His Excellency the Duke was on hand to welcome these newcomers to his realm beside Duchess Aikaterini Baumbach-Kallergis, Crown Princess of Morea, and a number of religious and administrative eminences of his Duchy. According to statements made by both Montferrati and Morean officials, this event marks the beginning of a new Christian mission into eastern Norda, a territory known for its resistance to divine truth as a result of its geographical and political proximity to pagan Eurasia.

This so-called ‘Nordan Mission’ is furthermore a compromise between Sultan Ioannis and Bishop Akakios, whose recent disagreements have come to dominate Achaian media headlines. The Bishop of Mystras has called on Sultan Ioannis to stop or restrict immigration into Morea from abroad, especially from non-Christian or heretical nations such as those from which large numbers of people have fled as refugees over the past year. His Anointed Majesty has firmly refused in each of these cases, stating his intention to provide a Christian home for all people of Esamir if necessary, and furthermore expressing his belief that the long-term economic and political health of Morea required an increase in the Morean population. Duke’s Minister Augustin’s report has added fire to Bishop Akakios’s demands for additional regulation to Morea’s population influx. His Excellency’s sermon two days ago, for instance, included a dire warning for Achaians in Mystras and throughout Morea if Sultan Ioannis was allowed to keep Morea’s door open to immigrants and refugees: “The Holy Book describes time and again how even the Kings of Granada** fell to temptation—and it demonstrates without fail the divine retribution that God has in store for those who lose their way, and for those also who stand by and do nothing to prevent it! Achaians too were once lost in the wilderness, and should foreigners and heathens enter our land as Sultan Ioannis wishes, only God may know if His people will maintain their strength! I pray that we will prevail, and I pray that our Sultan will heed our words, because today his successes are measured by Christ’s tears!”

Bishop Akakios IV speaking to Mystras media after his sermon earlier this morning, which acknowledged his agreement with Sultan Ioannis in the matter of the Nordan Mission. Credit: S. Thomas, ENNN

Bishop Akakios chose more moderate words today, as he announced that he and Sultan Ioannis had come to an agreement regarding the specific religious questions posed by Minister Augustin in Montferrat last week. “The people of Montferrat are Christian through and through,” the bishop insisted to his congregation, “but among them live peoples from abroad who have yet to see the light of the Lord as we have. It is our duty to spread the Word among these people, so that they may join us and our friends and partners in Montferrat in honoring and celebrating the truth of Creation. When we are all of one mind, and when our desires fully align, the Achaian people will stand together with the Montferrati and all the other peoples of eastern Norda and welcome them into our homes and our hearts.”

Sultan Ioannis released a similar statement from the Blue Palace to coincide with His Holiness’s sermon in Kallimarmaro Cathedral: “Nothing will please me more than to reveal that the people of Norda share alike the blessings of Christ and the truth of His Word. Achaians have long been at the forefront of this struggle to spread the Word of God to those who do not yet choose to listen, and we will continue in our efforts until the world knows, as we do, that Salvation is at hand. This struggle for the minds and souls of our neighbors is no less important than the physical struggle we face for our national security and Achaian identity. Your Sultan is working to secure both with minimal compromises to either, and what compromises the Sultanate has accepted in the short term are temporary in the extreme. With His Holiness the Bishop’s gracious aid, Achaian Morea will live to fear neither the boot of a foreign conqueror nor the temptation of pagan lies. The Almighty is with us.”

Duke’s Minister Augustin, who was present to greet the Achaian priests this morning in Riesa, made no comment regarding the furor that his warning last week has caused in the Sultanate.

    YULETIDE SPARKS CONTROVERSY
Saturnalia Feast causes ire amongst Christian sects.

Saturnalia decorations involve the erection of a decorative pine tree, as well as flowered garland. Following a large public banquet, families often retire to their homes to exchange gifts and to continue festivities.

    Julium
The month of December is ever a contentious time in the Eurasian Empire, and this year has proved no different than those past. The 25th of December hosts two competing holidays, both of which are vehemently fought over by their adherents; Saturnalia, one of the most important Maiorist feasts of the calendar year, and Christ's Mass, a Christian holiday celebrated to commemorate the birth of the god Jesus. Imperial law, dating back to the Edict of the Numantine in 205 by the Emperor Severus I, forbids the celebration of any religious events if they take place on the same day as a Maiorist or Deosian holiday.

This naturally has caused a great deal of tension between Maiorists, Deosians, and Christians. While Deosianism does not have any religious observances on the 25th, their holidays are protected under Imperial law as well, and they enjoy the same privileges for their holidays that Maiorists do. As Saturnalia and Christ's Mass occur on the same days, celebration, in a public fashion, of Christ's Mass is illegal, and punishable by fine. Christians frequently protest what is viewed as an injustice by the Imperial Government.

The Ministry of Culture, who controls the religious calendar of Maiorism and maintains the final say in what is considered a public holidays, historically has denied these accusations by Christian organizations, arguing that the traditions of Maiorism predate Christianity by almost a thousand years, and that in the case of Christ's Mass the Christians took the date of the 25th to, in the words of the Prime Minister of Culture for 1958 to 1969 Spurius Carvilius Ruga, "be difficult." The Ministry has also stated that the Bureau of Sancus, the agency of the Ministry responsible for prosecuting religious crimes, will continue to enact punishments for public celebration of unauthorized holidays during the Christian Yuletide season.

It is worthy of note that Judaism, thanks to the Edict of Granada, is exempted from these restrictions by the Culture Ministry, and as such Hanukkah, which began the night of the 24th, is a publicly celebrated holiday in many Eurasian Jewish communities.

    Aloia United Around Christmas

Crown Princess Marina puts an ornament on a Christmas tree, in this picture released by the House of Nordahl. Regardless of what some ancient people did with these very common trees, the modern version of the tradition of bringing trees into homes in winter dates to the 16th and 15th centuries, when devout Christians would bring decorated trees into their homes.

ZUMBROTA -- Aloians from all walks of life are united on this one day, December 25, to celebrate Christmas, an ancient Christian holy day observing the birth of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity. While some Christians are persecuted by oppressive, human rights-abusing governments throughout the world, Aloian Christians are free to openly express their joy in this day. In fact, the celebrations in Minneapolis, Uppsala, and Zumbrota are considered to be some of the largest in the world and Christians from other countries often make pilgrimage to the festivals.

At the same time, Aloia's small Deosian and Maiorist communities are also free to celebrate their festivals, without any fear of persecution from Aloia's government. Once again, Aloia leads the world in freedoms and respect for human dignity. Aloia's massive Christian population finds very little tension with the small populations of other religions, and Aloia's government prides itself on defending the rights of the oppressed and the minorities. Aloia's government has even taken in numerous Christian refugees from nations who claim to be developed leaders and yet continue to oppress religious minorities.

Multiple nonprofit organizations exist in Aloia to send money to persecuted Christians overseas. Some of the money goes to pay fines for Eurasian Christians who face oppression from their own government. The organizations also work in third-world countries and countries that wouldn't know better than to oppress their minorities. Some commentators have expressed surprise that in 2016, organizations would still be working to stop persecution in Eurasia, one of the most advanced nations.

    LONG-AWAITED WINTER IN GRANADA
    CELEBRATIONS BEING HELD THROUGHOUT ARVEYRES

The snow came unexpectedly to south Granda this year, as shown in the picture.

ALMERIA, GRANADA == For the first time since the late 1990s, a snowfall has brought unexpected cheer to the people of Almeria and southern Granada. The winter season has begun with celebrations of Christmas, Saturnalia, the end of Mawlid, and the beginning Hanukkah, as Granada is historically a hearth of religion within Arveyres. As all of the holidays take place in December, the government has decreed December as the month of religious awareness.

In order to promote religious unity and cultural awareness in Arveyres, this move has been praised by large groups of religious minorities, primarily Jewish communities in South Salamanca and Christian communities in Valencia, who have seen a major disconnect from their larger community counterparts near Almeria.

The Queen of Arveyres, Sofia X, apologetically being unable to attend the Velikogovolka Peace Conference, had a morning radio and television broadcast uttering her support for religious groups cross the nation and the world.

Queen Sofia (English translation) wrote:I hope that this December, our Religious Awareness Month, can educate more people throughout Arveyres and the World, that although we are different, the Heavens and time itself can organize for us to unite.
Reina Sofia (Arveyran) wrote:Eu espera que gi Diciembra nostra, la Mezia de la Insigia religiosa, puit ensenare man Personas in Arvera i anque en la Monda que beneque Nos sunt diferentas, las Cielas i la Tiempa-ocmisma puit organisare-ci porque Nos puit unire.

NEW TARAJAN CELEBRATES THE BIRTH OF JAHAN

    Astana.
As for tradition, today New Tarajan gathered to celebrate the Birth of Jahan, one of the most important religious festivities of the Kingdom.
Tracing its origins back to the beginning of the Ajanic settlement in Tarajan, the festivity celebrates the legendary birth of Jahan from the two gods Kilijali and Yaligham, and provides for a religious ceremony at the Temple of the Seven Gods of Astana, attended by the royal family and by the whole aristocracy, followed by a military parade, and a banquet at the Royal Palace.
In the atmosphere of impending political crisis which still overhang the country, the celebrations this year assumed a peculiar meaning, further confirmed by the speech King Friederick Wilhelm delivered to the country, where he stated that "our strongest commitments, in these difficult times, are for peace both inside and outside our borders."
"We cannot allow the difficulties to obscure the light. I invite all country to unity, all people to join us in this occasion."

A good sign came firstly from the population: despite the concerns of the Ministry of Homeland Security and Justice, no protest has taken place during the celebrations, meaning a return to normality.
But the second sign came directly from the Royal Palace, where the King invited representatives of all religious confessions of the Kingdom to participate to the banquet and, if they wished so, also to the ceremony in the Temple. Of particular relevance was the invitation of representatives of the Christian confessions (particularly of the Lutheran Church of Tarajan, which reunites the majority of Tarajani christians): it is the first time since the XVII century, when Christianity was abolished in the Kingdom, that a Tarajani King receives a Christian priest; an event even more meaningful after the clashes in the Duchy of Gravan of few months ago, which saw local christians aggressively protesting against a new abortion law, and which caused a massive retaliation from both the local and federal governments.
The meaning of the opening is clear: "A country cannot stand divided against itself" the King said in his speech "Thus, it is time to build up a strongest unity, despite our differences."
It is the manifesto of a new policy, already advocated by many inside the most liberal fringes of the political élite, which will see the Crown going even further on the program of liberalization of the country already pursued by Friederick Wilhelm. Rumors from the Royal Palace seem to point out that the Queen was not foreign from the decision of the King: it is well known that she has become already one of the main interlocutors of those groups (like christians) which felt most alienated by the Tarajani system; and this role is increasingly gaining prominence in aiding the King pursuing is goals.
Now, where this path will lead, only time could say.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS IN MYSTRAS ACCOMPANIED BY MISSIONARY PROGRESS
Sultan Ioannis IX Announces Establishment of Foreign Dioceses During Christmas Statement

Mystras, Morea: Sultan Ioannis IX Kallergis, bowing his head to Christ as all Achaians must during this most holy of days, celebrated the birth of the Savior at Kallimarmaro Cathedral in Mystras, where Bishop Akakios IV Doukas delivered his yearly Christmas sermon to a congregation of hundreds within the building and another thousand outside. Christmas is the preeminent festival of the Achaian calendar, and as with all other Christian nations of the world, Morea has spared no expense to celebrate the birth, life, and ministry of the Son of God, as He spared nothing in His efforts to save the world from sin. In Morea, these celebrations center on the Achaian Sultan as Christ’s anointed substitute, endeavoring without cease to spread the Word of God to the masses regardless of their unwillingness to hear, and praying for the souls of these unbelievers so that they may learn the Truth and be saved.

Rather than focusing on matters within Morea, such as his ongoing dispute with Sultan Ioannis over immigration policy, Bishop Akakios used the opportunity of his sermon to remind the Achaian people of their debt to the Lord and the divine mission of every Christian confessor, which is to save the souls of the lost before they are damned. “For every victory in Christ’s name,” he said from the pulpit, “we learn of another defeat. For every soul in Christendom saved from damnation, we learn of the violent persecution of the faithful abroad. These are the trials that the Lord our God sends to us! We who are fortunate to accept the True Faith must nonetheless remember the heathens in our prayers, so that the Lord may consent to teach them of their folly, and thereby save them through His Grace.”

Sultan Ioannis took the pulpit to make his own traditional address on this most auspicious anniversary. Like Bishop Akakios, His Anointed Majesty focused on the positive significance of Christian belief, rather than the political debates surrounding differences in interpretation between the prelate and himself. “The Christian people of the world are those who have been chosen for Heaven,” the Sultan told his listeners. “It is our pleasure as well as our duty to reveal the Word of God to the ignorant masses. We are the soldiers of Christ, serving His will in every setting, before any court, and in opposition to every falsehood. The pagans who lay claim to God’s Earth again seek to silence our brethren, but we are many, while they become ever fewer. The Truth will not be denied.”

To that end, His Anointed Majesty announced during his Christmas speech that Morea, the Achaian people, and the Christian faithful had taken one more step toward the fulfillment of God’s will. “Struggling against complications, entrenched ignorance, and simple disbelief, Achaian priests have already reported greater successes in their mission in eastern Norda than we in Morea had any right to expect. In conjunction with the authorities in Montferrat and various leaders in the heathen lands who desire a righteous submission to Christ, the Nordan Mission has begun the process of establishing and formally delineating new dioceses in the name of the Bishop of Mystras, and the authority of the Christian Church. While the efforts of Christ’s enemies abroad may continue to hinder the progress of Truth, in this corner of the world we may praise God for granting us this initial success, and pray that we may continue to do His work wherever it is needed.”

Increased Eurasian interest in eastern Norda, whether caused by the Nordan Mission or not, has only added to the mission’s urgency. However, a spokesman from the Blue Palace has also revealed interest in the mission from the Kingdom of Aloia, a Christian nation (albeit heretical) whose international standing could help to counteract Eurasian meddling in the future. “We have reason to hope that matters in eastern Norda will continue to develop in our favor,” the spokesman told the media. “We are furthermore confident that interference in our work from abroad will lead to repercussions against any aggressor. Truth, as always, will win over ignorance.”

THE OBSCURITY OF IMPERIAL FINANCES EXPLAINED
Whistelblowing exposé reveals the lack of understanding about Imperial finances.

    Julium
A sweeping exposé, published by the journal Populum, has opened wide the truly fantastical state of Imperial finances for all in the Empire to see. Multimillion dollar shopping trips, a gifted Arveyran estate worth £250,000,000 (Arveyran lirae), a family fortune of well over 50 billion pesetas, and untold opulence, largely on the public dole, were just the beginning of what the periodical has decried as the overreaches by the Eurasii. The story, which was written by the journalist A. W. Morpheus, claims that the obscene decadence in which the Eurasii live, at a time when large portions of the world struggle with starvation, is unconscionable.

According to allegations made by the magazine, the Imperial Family spends untold fortunes on luxury goods, with the Empress often going on shopping trips to Arveyres, spending on average 12.5 million lirae. The Imperial family was also recently gifted an expansive estate in Arveyres, purportedly worth 250 million lirae. The wealth of the Eurasii is equally suspicious. Due to the massive number of properties owned by the family, at least one villa per province, generally quite more, their wealth is massive. This, coupled with the dynasty of Eurasius having existed for 2,000 years in uninterrupted fashion, it is not surprising that they maintain such vast wealth. However, experts point out that the family is likely worth quite more. This is a result of the unique position the Emperor occupies.

Eurasian Imperial law places great power in the Emperor. In both a political and religious sense, the Emperor embodies the powers and the very concept of the Empire itself, and as such is, in many ways, the Empire. As such, it is not an irrational idea to state that the Emperor, being the state, is also its treasury. This is not an allegation of corruption, of course. The Emperor cannot steal something which is legally his, which the treasury is. Ergo, the Emperor and the Eurasii family could be said to have a net worth equal to that of the Empire itself.

BISHOP AKAKIOS BLESSES NEW NORDAN DIOCESES
Montferrati Authorities Support Achaian-Led Religious Leaders in Norda

Riesa, Montferrat: In accordance with the Nordan Mission’s primary goals, Bishop Akakios IV Doukas of Mystras has traveled to the capital of Montferrat to personally bless and instruct the Achaian prelates tasked to preach the Word of God to the heathens of Norda. In a prepared speech before the prominent Achaian churchmen, Duke Nico II Baumbach and Duchess Aikaterini Baumbach-Kallergis of Montferrat, and a public gathering of several hundred Riesans, the Bishop of Mystras reiterated the truth of the Gospel, the duty of all Christians to work for the betterment of their neighbors, and the fires of Hell that awaited the pagans who could not be made to see the light.

“The Creation of the Lord has been made by sin into a nest of devil-worshipers,” the bishop said to the assembly. “But the Lord in His mercy sent His Son to remind us of our folly. And it is our duty and our privilege to follow the holy example that He set for us, and bring the Word of God to the ignorant masses of eastern Norda.”

Bishop Akakios IV Doukas with several Achaian prelates and attendants earlier this year. This group, and specifically newly-enthroned Bishop Gavriil Ekklisias (second from right), is the vanguard of the Nordan Mission. Credit: S. Thomas, ENNN

Bishop Akakios’s blessing has formally created and codified the three new Christian dioceses carved out of pagan Norda: Liguria in the west, Raitia in the east, and Aimilia between the two. As it is understood that the coast of Raitia will come under the greatest threat of any pagan reaction, given its unfortunate proximity to Eurasian holdings elsewhere in eastern Norda, this diocese has been given administrative priority over the others. Bishop Akakios has enthroned his first attendant, Gavriil Ekklisias, as Bishop of Raitia, as the new diocese has taken its name from its most important population center. While Bishop Akakios has also appointed other notable Achaian prelates to bishoprics within the new dioceses, all of them will answer to Bishop Gavriil of Raitia until the dioceses are well established and prepared to operate independently.

“This is an historic moment,” Bishop Gavriil said to the gathered Montferrati who had come to witness the blessing. “For many generations, you have mingled with your pagan neighbors, aware of their ignorance but incapable of bringing the light to their souls. Be assured: You have done no harm in your former ways, nor do we ask that you change them now. But the Christians of Montferrat are no longer alone! Now we have come at the behest of men and of God to rescue your neighbors from the fires of damnation—and, with your help, that is precisely what we will do!”

Bishop Akakios of Mystras and Bishop Gavriil of Raitia immediately after the former’s blessing of the new dioceses in eastern Norda. Credit: B. E. Formel, Montferrat

Duke Nico of Montferrat seconded Bishop Gavriil’s optimism. “Montferrat has always been a Christian realm,” he said to his subjects and guests. “And we have always prided ourselves on our service to God and His people. Now we can take pride in sharing our good fortune with our more destitute neighbors, whose company we have shared in friendship for generations, but whose ignorance we have always mourned. No longer!”

The duke added, “For Montferrat and Morea both, this is a day where pride must give way to humble thanksgiving. But I encourage both of our peoples to take pleasure in their God-given duty nonetheless. In that, at least, we are fortunate that there is so much work to be done.”

Duke Nico II Baumbach with several ministers prior to Bishop Akakios’s address. Duke’s Minister David Augustin was notably absent, possibly due to his concerns over Montferrati-Morean cooperation. Credit: N. Rosberg Agency, Montferrat

Bishop Gavriil and his fellow bishops of Norda will take up their posts as soon as formal residences can be found. In Raitia, Achaian planners are already working to purchase property that will suit the bishop’s needs, and which will serve as an improvised cathedral while a new edifice is constructed. Throughout the establishment of the new dioceses, the newly-installed bishops will continue to work with the Duchy of Montferrat to ease the locals in this transition, and to alleviate any concerns from either the locals or ducal officials regarding the traditional welcome that the Duchy, and especially its armed services, has always given the people of eastern Norda in their search for profitable work—a partnership whose importance to Montferrati security was a great impetus in the development of the Norda Mission in the first place.

    Sinn Fein Defeated

Polls have closed and the votes have been counted. The result can only be described as shocking and politically upsetting. At the beginning of December Prime Minister Mary McDonald announced plans to resign and ask King Francis Charles to dissolve Parliament and call elections. This decision comes after the Royal Senate passed a resolution expressing lack of confidence in the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister's approval ratings falling from 44% to 23% with her disapproval ratings jumping from 44% to 61%.

This started one of the most active campaigns in history with 4 parties, the National Federation Party, Sinn Fein, the Conservative Party, and the New Liberal Party, all putting out platforms. The election saw one thing that surprised few people, the further collapse of the Conservative Party.
    The results are as shown
    Sinn Fein:
    Leader-Mary McDonald
Seats before election: 321(held Government through coalition with New Liberals and Independents)
    Vote Total: 146,791,573 – 32.62%
    Seats after election: 220(-101)

    Conservatives:
    Leader-Edward Earnest
    Seats before election: 51
    Vote Total: 21,240,227 – 4.72%
    Seats after election: 19(-32)

    National Federation Party:
    Leader: Aldric Burgsman
    Seats before election: 285
    Vote total: 218,477,341 – 48.55%
    Seats after election: 385(+100)

    New Liberals
    Leader: Justin Johnson
    Seats before election: 33
    Vote total: 40,950,438 – 9.1%
    Seats after election: 70(+67)

    Independents:
    Leader: None(not an organized party)
    Seats before election: 12
    Vote total: 22,545,241 – 5.01
    Seats after election: 20 seats

The results were certified at 4:30 AM with the National Federation Party taking a majority in Parliament and former President Aldric Burgsman becoming the presumptuous Prime Minister.

Also in the elections for the Royal Senate the NFP saw more success there with taking away Sinn Fein’s majority in the upper house.

Out of 136 seats the NFP took up 61 seats, the NLP took up 31 seats, Independents took 18 seats, and Sinn Fein managed to hold on to 26 Senate seats.

PAGAN MONTFERRATI UNITS ARRIVE IN MOREA
Sultan Ioannis Promises Tolerance in the Short Term Toward Nordan-Born “Makarians”

Mystras, Morea: Duke Nico II Baumbach of Montferrat has begun to fulfill one of his wedding vows: defending the realm of his father-in-law. Today marked the arrival of several thousand Montferrati soldiers to Morea, where Sultan Ioannis IX Kallergis was present with notable members of the extended Kallergis family and the principle representatives of the Blue Palace to greet these new defenders of the Achaian people and the Christian faith. While this event could be considered the culmination of several months of work in both Mystras and Riesa, however, political and religious insiders have already pointed out that it is also the beginning of a hard road for the Achaian people and their leaders. “It is ironic,” said one official of Kallimarmaro Cathedral who asked not to be named, “that His Holiness Bishop Akakios has gone to bless the spread of the Gospel in eastern Norda, while the men who were born there bring their heathenism into the heart of Morea. And it is shameful, in my opinion, that the Sultan not only stands aside and allows it, but actively encourages this outrage, over the objections of every sane Achaian.”

While a large proportion of the Montferrati forces arriving today are unquestionably Christian, Montferrat is well known for accepting foreign men into its armed forces, which was at one time the small realm’s only means of defending itself against larger neighbors. This custom dates back centuries, and is very unlikely to end at the censure of the Blue Palace or the Kallimarmaro Cathedral. Until last year, Montferrat’s policies had nothing to do with Morean politics, and the Sultanate had long ignored the possible threat to Christian souls represented by the heathens in Montferrat’s military. Upon the marriage of Duke Nico to Crown Princess Aikaterini Kallergis, however, the Duchy was tied to the Sultanate at a fundamental level, as has become increasingly clear in the last two months as the plans first suggested last summer have finally been put into practice. As a part of this long-term relationship between the two realms, Montferrati military forces have been assigned to defend Morean territory against any possible incursion by its enemies—most notably, but perhaps not only, the Empire of Eurasia, Morea’s most abiding concern—and will soon supplement Achaian troops in their missions, domestic or foreign.

The Duchy of Montferrat has therefore been very sensitive to Achaian concerns in this matter, deploying units to Morea that are as Christian as possible; the majority of the three regiments that arrived this morning are made up entirely of Christian soldiers. Several subunits, however, not only contain large numbers of pagan soldiers, but were formed with an explicitly pagan heritage. Unit flags and standards among these men are replete with signs and symbols proclaiming the soldiers’ loyalty not only to the lord of Montferrat, Duke Nico, but also the lady they believe reigns over them from her lunar seat, the so-called goddess known as ‘Makaria.’

Historians are divided as to the origins of Makarian worship, with vocal factions arguing that she was originally envisioned either as a warrior or a fertility goddess, but in modern times pagan soldiers have latched on to both of these identities. To heathens in Norda, Makaria gives life by encouraging fertility and procreation, and protects life by warding off enemies in war. Various towns in pagan Norda claim to hold her most important relic, the ‘Shield of Makaria,’ regardless of worshipers who believe that she continues to wield the Shield herself. As with all heathen superstition, no one bothers to explain these contradictions, proving in their silence the folly of this worship.

It is a folly that has now been introduced to Morea. Though Sultan Ioannis has formerly defended his decision to bring heathens into Morea as a step on the road toward their conversion to Christianity, today the Sultan assured the Achaian people that, while the soldiers of Montferrat will be tasked with whatever duties are required for Morea’s protection, the heathens among them will be kept well away from Achaian population centers. Sources close to the Blue Palace suggest that the heathens will be placed along Morea’s southern borders with Eurasia, partly to avoid coming into conflict with Achaians or Duresians on the other side of the country, and partly to ease the nervousness of any pagan immigrants entering the country from that direction. Critics point out, however, that such heathen soldiers are a liability to Morea’s security when asked to stand against those who believe as they do, or at least tolerate their worship, while their commanders do not. The Sultan has not yet commented on this criticism.
