(P(I)) Reserved Territory Abolition Resolution

DESCRIPTION: Sections A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I of Article I of the Map System Reform and Regional Capital Operational Resolution shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

ARGUMENT: Concerned that no new nations have claimed territory in the reserved regions, as that is the stated goal of the reserved lands, and

Convinced that the land would be better put to use as open territory for claims,

The General Assembly of Esamir hereby:
1. Returns the reserved areas to their previous status of neutral open territory;

2. Repeals sections A, B, C, D, E, G, H, and I of Article I of the Map System Reform and Regional Capital Operational Resolution.

We support this; we would also like all of the nature reservations repealed.

We also support this, and the amendment proposed by Arveyres.

Eurasia supports this legislation and the Arveyran proposal.

I think the problem is that when expansions start or in general there isn't any clear cut notice out there for new nations stating these reserved areas are indeed for them to occupy.
I do believe that if we are going to be striking these clauses we need to keep a stricter check on our expansions.

For law aesthetic cohesiveness, we ask that the author rename this proposal to "Map Reservation Abolition Resolution" or something along those lines.

While we rather begrudgingly support the resolution as it stands now, we do have some comments to make on it. First, we would like to propose that the author add Section F of Article I to the list of articles being struck out as it is no longer relevant to our current use of the map. Secondly, while this does not pertain to the current version of this proposal, we urge the author to not abolish the nature reserves at this time. However, we are willing to negotiate for the removal of some of them.

We will rename the proposal.

And we agree that the nature reserves shouldn't be abolished in this bill. We'd rather that this resolution stick to its original purpose. It wouldn't be too hard to create another bill to eliminate the nature reserves (or at least just some of them).

And in response to Zack, we feel the current expansion procedures are sufficient. And if we ever ran out of room, we could always expand the region to include more continents, as we have in the past.

Eurasia agrees with Aloia. The current expansion procedures are fine as they are, and if necessary we can expand the map as we did previously. More, with current recruitment levels, we don't foresee continental additions to the map to be an issue in the foreseeable future.
