The United States of Europe are officially at war against the regime of Snow,after attempts to attack against the fleet and the public execution of some foreigners,including many European citizens. The official announcement of the commencement of the war,broadcast live over the Internet and on all national networks occurred in a press conference held by the President of the Council of Ministries,Martin Schulz,in the early afternoon today,in front of dozens of journalists. This is part of his words: "Europe is officially at war with the tyrannical regime of Snow,along with the entire international community,after another brutal and senseless crime,or the execution of several foreign nationals. Snow is a madman,a threat to all the countries,as well as a brutal criminal,that will soon have to answer for his actions to the justice,to the families of his victims,to the people of Atanosia and to the entire global community. Military operations are already under way, in full coordination with the allied countries: the land invasion proceeds quickly and air and naval attacks are having huge successes, aid to rebel factions have been intensified. Soon this nightmare will be over. The Government also appreciates the support from the SECURS in this battle for civilization,freedom and human rights,against the oppressive tyranny. Our military forces will coordinate with them. However Government requires that the SECURS officially respects as agreed in the Treaty of Zumbrota. Atanosia is and will remain in the UPS,and will return to being a free,prosperous and democratic republic."
According to recent rumors,the dictatorial regime has claimed the sinking of 53 ships of the European fleet through the coastal artillery. This has already been thoroughly refuted by the military authorities,who have branded the news as "pure propaganda of a government in disarray." Official sources indicate very low losses,some ships damaged slightly,while others with more serious damages,which will have to leave the combat operations,but no sinking reported. This is given by the advanced technology of which the fleet is equipped,among the best worldwide,significantly higher than the enemy,and to the ability of our sailors,who have allowed to cancel the effect of the attack.
The national security agencies report that,with an operation that saw the participation of the European Special Forces, together with those of Antanares,New Tarajan and Eurasia,were freed several hostages in the hands of the regime. The extreme professionalism with which the operation was conducted allowed the full achievement of the goals,with practically no losses (the same can not be said for dictatorial forces). There are still many European citizens to recover,among the prisoners,prisoners in slavery and dispersed,but national authorities ensure that a huge intelligence work is being done to save them.
But let to the war strategy.
THE STRATEGY: AIR CAMPAIGN OPERATIONS

The air campaign is a key element in the strategy of war to be taken against the regime. In fact the major military leaderships,national and allied,have determined that obtaining complete air superiority is essential for achieving the mission goals. For the international forces there is a consistent strategic,as well as numeric,superiority. In fact,just talking about Europe,the European Air Force has an operative forces among the most efficient and technologically advanced in the region. The operations therefore continue with excellent results,and with extremely small losses.
In particular,the European Air Force has deployed,for air superiority and tactical strikes operations,several wing from the Twelfth Air Force (Air Combat Command). For logistical support,was deployed the Eighteenth Air Force (Air Mobility Command). For actions of strategic bombing (by stealth heavy bombers),and aerial surveillance (via AWACS aircrafts),were mobilized several air wing from Eight Air Force (Global Strike Command).
The targets of the air campaign are threefold. The first priority is focused to the complete disarticulation of air and naval enemy potential,with the creation of a No-Fly-Zone over Atanosia,through the destruction of naval and air units,as well as with the disabling of the military infrastructure related: the aim is to complete air and naval superiority. The second priority is a nationwide campaign of attacks against major military infrastructure,including bases,depots and installations,defensive systems and artillery locations,radar networks and command points: the aim is to reduce the military potential of the enemy and destroy the logistics chian. The third priority focuses on tactical support actions,such as actions of command and control,intelligence and surveillance,close air support,for the ground operative units during the movements of terrestrial invasion
THE STRATEGY: NAVAL CAMPAIGN OPERATIONS

Just as air superiority,even naval superiority is essential for achieving the goals. Allow the enemy to possess even a naval force in fact jeopardize the logistics lines,and exposes to serious risks ground forces, n addition to be a danger of counterattack. Here too European and international forces are strategically and tactically advantaged. European Navy has a fleet among the most advanced,efficient and deadly in the world and is composed of professional and highly trained sailors,clearly superior than the enemy units. Not to mention also that the vast majority of enemy naval forces defected,and now works with the international forces. The naval campaign therefore continue with excellent results,the losses are low.
The Navy has deployed,in the Atanosian South Coast,the Carrier Strike Group One,Three and Nine (with relative carrier air wings),the Destroyer Squadron One,Fifteen,Seven,and the Submarine Squadron Seven and Eleven. In the North Coast was deployed Carrier Strike Group Eleven,the Destroyer Squadron Twenty-three and Twenty-one,and Submarine Squadron Seventeen (all from West Fleet Command). Mobilized also logistical and tactical supports units from Military Sealift Command.
The first priority of the naval campaign is the destruction of enemy naval units,as well as the disarticulation of military port infrastructures. Also another strategic objective is the destruction of coastal fortifications and defensive networks,especially in the southern areas. As far as possible,through devastating high precision missile attacks,the naval units are trying to support and encourage the land advance. In addition,the aircraft-carriers and anphibious assault ships are strategic platforms for each type of air action.
THE STRATEGY: LAND CAMPAIGN & HUMANITARIAN OPERATIONS

The ground campaign,the invasion itself,conducted with the full support of local rebel factions,is the heart of the entire strategy. The goal is to free the district after district by the presence of government forces,until it occupied the capital: in this context is a priority capture Snow and all the senior echelons of the dictatorship.
For the invasion,the European Army has deployed the 101st and the 82nd Airborne Division (Army Airborne Corps),between best airborne units in the world for professionalism,training and equipments. The European National Marines Corp has mobilized the 1st Marine Legion,the 3rd Marine Air Legion and the 1st Marine Logistics Legion (from I Marine Expeditionary Force),perfect long-range strike force.
Districts 9 and 11 fully controlled by rebel forces,centers of projection of significant strategic importance,are being used as the main logistics base for the procurement of equipments,troops and materials,and as the main base for naval and air forces. Inside them were already installed surveillance systems and defensive networks,including missile systems and long-range artillery. Ground forces arrived on the continent by landing operations and airborne attacks,that thanks to air,naval and technological superiority,as well as the support of the local rebels,have gone well,in many places the resistance was virtually absent: bridgeheads are now welded,and ground forces are advancing rapidly with minimal losses. In districts where the rebellion is still ongoing,given the greater presence of government forces,European units and allies are advancing more slowly and with more difficulty. Special forces and intelligence units (including SAD,Special Activities Division,from European Central Intelligence gency),behind enemy lines,are conducting sabotage activities against loyalist forces,to facilitate the allied advance,and operations to identify senior leaders of the regime,to facilitate their capture. Also continue clandestine operations to organize,equip and train local rebel forces.

Atanosian civillians have welcomed the European,rebels and allied soldiers with open arms,celebrating their arrival in the cities and in the countryside,seeing them as saviors and liberators from oppression,as restorers of freedom and democracy. In the liberated areas are being conducted even massive humanitarian operation. In particular it is the creation,from the Army Medical Command,some voluntary associations,and from specific units of the European Civil Protection,of a ramified and efficient network of centers for the distribution of humanitarian aid,in order to reach every citizen,of the establishment of field hospitals and of the creation of centers of accommodation for the displaced. In addition,the humanitarian forces,in particular Army Corps of Engineers,are working to ensure the continuity and efficiency of public services (particularly health services) and of basic infrastructure (especially energy lines and aqueducts),repairing damage and strengthening its with their own facilities. Moreover,the efforts are also focused on state-building actions,to restore the institutional framework to and recreate the peaceful coexistence of individual communities,locally and regionally.
