Of course This is an open-ended alternate history, so the only set event we have is that there will be a supervolcano

I was thinking that at the very end, we end up with a United Earth, where nations cease to exist, and we are just citizens of Earth. I don't know how we'll get to this point, but there could be lots of fun conflict involved.

Does this sound too much like a utopian-futuristic Star Trek idea, or could we make it work here?

The National Geothermal Survey of Arveyres, which has been operating for over 50 years, is finishing up the study that has confirmed the location and potential scale of the impending supervolcano that will rattle the entire world. This tragesty is expected to send ash all across the world, blanketing many and killing more. More details haven't been released. The Royal Union extends its arms in hopes of banding together with the people of the fallen nations.

OOC : This officially starts the RP, I'm giving a little time to set up your country's playing style before the eruption, and giving the few last people the last minute chance to get involved. Expect the eruption in about 3-4 days. Have fun, treat like a news thread, no turns

Urbem Sol
A busy day was had in Urbem Sol, with the Senate in session for almost twenty-four hours dealing with the coming crisis. The Senate authorized the Vault-Tec Corporation, a military contractor and state-owned technology conglomerate, to build a series of shelters to protect the Eurasian people in the event of total catastrophe. According to a report published by the Senate, many of these shelters are in fact already completed, and now Eurasian citizens may apply for entry.

The Emperor also announced that all Eurasian borders would be sealed until further notice. This action, which came as a surprise to many, will isolate all those not inside Eurasia or Arveyres. Border guards have been ordered to shoot on sight, and the Imperial Navy has been ordered to militarily defend Eurasian maritime borders against all invaders.

The Senate also voted emergency executive power to the Emperor, enabling him to declare civil justitium when the time arrives. Thus far, the Emperor has not declared civil justitium, but it is expected he will do so soon.

While much of the world's nations scurry to prepare for a potential natural catastrophe, the air in Kaevi is different. News that a "supervolcano" in the Arveyres area has been largely met with dismissal or apathy by the public despite the evidence presented. At an interview, a local said:

We live on the opposite side of the world from the supposed blast zone. I don't believe that Kaevi will be affected or that the earth is capable of producing such a blast. The rest of the world may suffer, but I am reasonably certain that we will march on as we always have.

In Narasti, a strange quietness fills the streets. In a rare occurrence, the National Assembly has met in the Seprastitosio National Palace for the past two days in closed-door meetings. The Assembly usually reserves the location for important ceremonies and legislating on matters of potent implications. According to the Speaker's secretary, news of the meeting's outcome is planned to be published by the end of the week.

The last sighting of the Speaker before he left his residence yesterday morning in response to an inquiry about whether the government was prepared to deal with such a threat was: "Yes. Kaevi is resilient and I have no fear about its future. However, I cannot say any more at this time." It should be noted that the Speaker wields the exclusive power of declaring states of emergency. Some who are concerned about the outcome of a great disaster in Kaevi fear that this power could lead to the breakdown of democracy.

Vault-Tec NZ, a direct subsidiary of Eurasian disaster conglomerate "Vault-Tec" has transitioned to full operational status. Vault-Tec NZ won the government contract following the disaster management act of 2016, written in the aftermath of the red flu. The disaster management act gave Vault-Tec the job of building and managing hundreds of housing vaults across the nation in preparation of a cataclysmic disaster, mirroring the moves of the Eurasian Senate. Under the disaster management act, when the Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergency declares a status 5 event (events that could result in a death rate of over 60% of the population), the President then has the ability to temporarily disband the central government and hand over control to the NZDF (with the President remaining as the Commander-in-chief) and Vault-Tec being given full authority over the operation of it's vaults during the dark days, which are classified as the time during which remaining citizens are contained within the vaults and not on the surface. Upon return to the surface, it is the Duty of the NZDF High Command (Who will have been housed in Vault 101 - a top security vault with undisclosed location) to re-establish the central government and by extension the Social Democracy. Following the resurfacing, the High Command then has the opportunity to either re-establish the Social Democracy as an independent state, or to merge with Eurasia and become a member of the Commonwealth (which would be the choice if civilian casualties are extensive). 

Whilst the Super Volcano has not erupted yet, MetService have announced that substantial evidence is present to expect a high chance of the eruption : ETA just under 1 month. As a result the Government has declared a state of emergency and all resources have been diverted to 24/7 building and expansion of vaults in preparation of the event with effectively every single piece of construction equipment in the nation being used by Vault-Tec. Vault-Tec also announced that they will be selecting people based on a triage derived "S.P.E.C.I.A.L." system, which has been received by moderate public opposition. At this stage however, Vault-Tec is the only line of defense from this disaster. Currently the Ministry of Civil Defence estimates a long term civilian mortality rate of between 40 and 50%, with many civilians opting to use private shelters rather than Vault-Tec shelters, following documents outlining potentially questionable motives behind the Vaults, such as social experimentation. Vault-Tec has refused to reply to any questions regarding the matter.

Tulkomanistan To Take Precautions Against The Eruption?


Tulkoman seaplanes had been seen 'carrying' the water to the areas near borders and more things like workers digging deep trench like holes to the land borders of the country. People started to ask if Tulkoman Government was doing these things in order to protect Tulkomanistan from a possible eruption of supervolcano. Emir of Tulkomanistan finally made an official release. He told that they were taking the precautions but not only against eruption. They were also building shelters nearby cities and to underground(Only about 10-20% is constructed so far) to protect people from actual thing that can damage Tulkomanistan the most, volcanic eruption, at least that's the prediction of Tulkoman scientists. Emir said that there is also a chance for stockpiles to end as some of them will be transfered to the shelters. Emir encoureg his people to work together still in order to not lose the country to the chaos. Another Government Offical later stated that Tulkomanistan can go into state of emergency if chaos will happen throughout the nation.

In other news, it's said that Tulkoman Government readies few projects to improve Tulkomanistan on few certain sectors. No one knows when the details about the project will be released but everyone is sure that it won't happen before the eruption.

Nothing more is known as Tulkoman Government still blocks most of the information about what's happening there since a grand scandal in their nation in late 2020s.

The explosion of the European Supervolcano as predicted by the Arveyran Geothermal Survey has reached its occurence. The explosion is much smaller than that predicted by the survey. There is more damage caused to the area directly surrounding the eruption site than expected. The ash cloud is travelling quickly to the west, expected to fan out to Eurasia and Duresia, and little to reach Tulkomanistan. The volcano has also released toxic sulphur and mercury that have poisoned nearby water, converting Lisoone, Kaevi; and Ravinia, Arveyres into effective wastelands with no access to fresh water.

The ash cloud has left western Ravinia, including the capital city of Raven, which is also a city built mostly on islands, and connected by canal systems, under around 40cm of volcanic ash. The Arveyran Government in Cevilla has not sent out humanitarian aids to help the city, as the amount of resources to repair it is too great to risk. The Grand Canal connecting Ravinia and Alba has been closed at all the locks, forcing the stop of the spread of toxic water.

The Arveyran Government urges all Arveyrans to move as far east as they can to get as far away from the ash cloud as they can. Talks with the Kaevise government have begun to ponder the idea of abandoning the governments in the mainland and settle new territories in Spicita and Diamanto. The Parliament of Arveyres also has had many discussions on the abolition of the monarchy to give more power to the people and to be more equal with resources.

The Supervolcano erupted over a week ago, please participating members Eurasia, Duresia, Hunhewuguo, New Zealand, and Tulkomanistan post something or be removed from the RP.

Urbem Sol
The Emperor declared a state of martial law following the eruption of the European Supervolcano earlier this week, ordering the mobilization of all reserves in the Imperial Military. The Senate has also voted the Emperor emergency powers, including the suspension of habeas corpus. The Imperial Military has been ordered to establish refugee camps for the displaced, as well as to secure the borders from hostile entities. Vault-Tek has also announced that the vaults will be sealed within the next two to three days, depending on the path of the ash cloud and the speed with which it approaches.

NORTH DURESIA IN RUIN

Parts of North Duresia are in ruin after the great volcano euruption, the King has declared a state of emergency and military is set to help anyone in need. Many citizens have already started to evacuate themselves towards the coasts.

The Arveyran Government in Sevilla has abandoned the capital for the City of Mojacar, further east from Sevilla. The ash cloud moving very rapidly east has not been as extreme as predicted, but is still very hazardous and deadly. The city of Cadiz (Raven) has been effectively left in ruins, under a half-meter of volcanic ash, leaving many citizens left in bunkers no way to exit, and left for dead.

There are also many Arveyrans fleeing out to the Arveyran port of Gerona, across the globe near Kaevi. The Government urges anyone with a boat to make it to Cuenca, a city in the Eurasian Archipelago, where fuel and food have been stocked for the move to Gerona. Humanitarian efforts have begun to make their way back to Cadiz to try and liberate any possibly salvageable settlements.
