The Eurasian delegation to the Security Council was ordered to vote "No" on the amendment to the Planitan peacekeeping operation that would establish the Tarajani Government as the leaders of the operations. The Government cited numerous reasons for the decision, the principal among them being that a more neutral candidate for leadership would be prefered. Ambassador Rajoy said: "While Eurasia supports the efforts of the Security Council to pass a Resolution aimed at stabilizing the legitimate government of President Walker in Planita, we do not feel that the nation of New Tarajan is the proper choice for leadership of the operations. While we recognize that they are geographically close to Planita and are 'concerned' for their border, we maintain that a more neutral choice for leadership is required. We have suggested to the Security Council that the Esamir Department of Defense be given the authority to stabilize Planita, but the Tarajani delegation seems unhappy with this request. Until a more viable candidate presents themselves, Eurasia will not support the amendment."


The Foreign Ministry announced today that Premier Robledo and the Prime Minister of New-Zealand will be holding a joint press conference in the near future to discuss, among other things, a possible Eurasian-New-Zealand Defense Agreement and the issue of Anonymous, which has been under attack from the Tarajani and other Royalist Governments for some time since the still unidentified breach of military communications earlier this month. Both Eurasia and New-Zealand have come out in defense of Anonymous, saying that the infiltration which resulted in a Eurasian invasion into New-Zealand was simply out of Anonymous' capabilities. SECURS has remained adamant though that Anonymous was behind the attack, and has even gone as far as to attack an Anonymous safehouse in Arveyres. While Eurasia has not gone as far as offering members of the organization positions in the Ministry of National Security, as New-Zealand has done, they have granted the members temporary asylum to prevent their arrest by SECURS forces.

MONROVIA - A round of air strikes battered the city of Allica today as military forces were given the green light to move in. Completing the mobilization all military units, the President ordered an attack immediately. At this time, there are reports of heavy gunfire and explosions in the cities of Plano, Allica, Aurora, and Garland.

All military units are at Armed Level 2, signaling full-scale conventional warfare nationwide. All naval vessels including the First Fleet have been deployed to coasts of the danger zones and are currently being used as staging points for cruise missiles strikes and air strikes. Planitan air forces are currently bombarding on suspected rebel hideouts with precision strikes while  attempting to avoid civilian targets. Land forces are currently moving to rebel strongholds where they will coordinate with the United Nations peacekeeping forces. The President in a speech approved the military escalation, in a speech to Parliament, he stated that, “I regret this forceful actions forces us attack our own citizens. However I feel I have no alternative to prevent the fall of our country.”

The military support relieved Heavy CORE forces who sustained serious casualties and setbacks by attempting to restore order. All CORE forces are withdrawing from the fronts and are returning to secure military bases in Liberia. Many units have sustained losses and need to be reconstructed. Any CORE units that have not sustained a detrimental amount of damage have been reassigned for general security. As this is original purpose for CORE units, this has been gladly welcomed.

MONTERREY - The Federal Government is growing impatient after the Eurasian delegation voted against the Tarjani Amendment for a peacekeeping force in the region. Further complicating and delaying talks, there is no end of the deal in sight. After two weeks of talks with no progress, President Walker’s spoke up. In a speech inside Parliament, Mr. Walker stated, “We commend all parties in their thoughtful actions to protect an ally. As we have allies with both Royalists and Republican states, we can only feel grateful for their support. However we know that we have differences but we must not allow it to obstruct our goals. New Tarajan, while we are grateful for your support we agree with Eurasia in choosing a more neutral nation. However we must face the facts which states that time is of the essence. I propose that New Tarajan will remain leader as a practical solution. But the Planitan Government will be able to choose the leader of the force and change it if necessary.”

The atmosphere in the capital was frenetic as the people crowded around TV's and radios to watch the joint press conference between the Eurasian and Kiwi Governments, which has been much anticipated around the world. The Premier began the conference, speaking in front of the assembled press corps and flanked by the cabinet ministers of Eurasia and New-Zealand.

"Good morning to everyone. I would like to begin by thanking Prime Minister Lytle for coming to Eurasia, as well as his cabinet ministers. They, my cabinet, and I had a productive meeting to finalize the details of an agreement that has been in the works for quite some time. It became apparent after the incident a few weeks ago that Eurasia and New-Zealand, while maintaining smaller treaties here and there, do not really have any major treaty between each other, despite being some of the closest allies in the world. Therefore, we endeavored to draft an agreement which would formalize many of the agreements already made between our two nations. Over the past few days, Prime Minister Lytle and I, along with our cabinets, have written an agreement which will not only increase trade and immigration between our two nations, but will also be the largest defensive agreement in recent history.

First, the military aspects of the agreement. As more or less the entire world knows, the Eurasian military recently entered New-Zealand on what was thought to be a military insurrection in the New-Zealand government. Obviously, that was not the case, but it presented us with a unique issue. Years ago, both our predecessors had agreed to come to each other's aid in a time of domestic unrest, but the agreement was merely verbal and was never written down. This treaty would codify the agreement that, should either New-Zealand or Eurasia enter into armed conflict with a hostile entity, the other will come to its aid.

The agreement two will establish the historic Eurasia and New Zealand Army Corps, or ENZAC, which will be a military pact between our two nations allowing for greater cooperation and joint deployment. In other words, wherever ENZAC goes, Eurasia and New-Zealand go. This pact will also allow for joint research projects for our militaries, joint training, and even shared bases throughout each other's countries. ENZAC is essentially the culmination of a succession of treaties and informal agreements between Eurasia and New-Zealand, and will serve to tighten our relations as allies and neighbors. The agreement will also apply to the navy, where the Eurasian and Kiwi navies will operate together to defend each other's shores and trade routes, as well as on foreign deployments such as in Planita. So too will it apply to the border guards. Where previously, on the border, Eurasia and New-Zealand operated separate, if friendly, guard outposts, now they will operate together to ensure cohesion and further efficacy.

At this time, I would like to allow Prime Minister Lytle to speak on the economic and migratory aspects of the treaty. Questions will be answered at the end. Thank you."

The Planitia's mess

With the prolongation of the debates into the Security Council about who must be the leader of the peacekeeping forces destined to take a primary role in the Planitia's crisis, the forces of Antanares continue their fights in the south of the country, near the border, to maintain the order in the territory of the allied country. For now, considering the lack of a leadership in the general organization, the federal forces, with the remnant CORE loyalists, took defensive positions around the main cities, launching several strikes against the main logistical positions of the rebels to avoid eventually counter-attacks. With new forces disposed near the border, to avoid any attack into the Antanaresian territory, the Federation would continue to support the CORE forcesn and President Walker.
The naval blockade continue, with controls to the ships that arrive in the area of fight to avoid the smuggles to deliver eventually weapons in the area. Mechs and planes continue their guerrilla against the rebels positions, with the support of special forces and long range artillery. Main objectives of the strikes are the radar positions of the enemy, deposits and command structures. SAOIRSE, also, continue its investigations to found and eliminate the local rebel leaders, after the recent elimination of one of them in the south area, a commander named "Black Puma", hunted and killed with a drone.
In every case, and the analysts are sure of this, without a precisely command structures a real counter-attack against the rebels, only with the actual forces, would be impracticable. With too much nations on the territory of Planitia, with every one of them with different goals and purposes, the possibilities to organize an efficient coalition without the support of the UNE become impossible. Antanares, in the case of a failure of the international diplomacy, would encounter two possibilities: retire all the troops or send more vehicles and men, to enter in a real conflict against all the rebels and helps with more than funds, special forces and supplies Walker, considered in the rooms of the government the only opportune choice for the future of Planitia.

A moral dilemma

The trial of the young couple of hackers of Anonymous would be held in the next week and the debate around how the government must judge and eventually what kind of magistrate must take the problem is actually on the first pages of all the main journals of the country. For a lot of people the trial was of course a political way for some elements of the Bruma to send a message, with different social and political forces ready to use all their power to influence how this trial would end.
SAOIRSE and AFS, at the same time, continue their hunt against the elements of Anonymous in Antanares. After another strike against an illegal server on the territory of Targahar, the AFS blocked a series of sharing sites and forums online used from Anonymous like virtual exchange places.

Two days ago : A private jet of the royal family left the airport in Montsilvanu with Crown Prince Heinrik on board, according to eye witnesses it was spotted landing in Saraha, Arveyres with the Crown Prince on board. The rumor spread quickly around Duresia with many people wondering, what is our head of state up to?

One day ago : it's confirmed that Heinrik was seen together with Princess Laurentine of Arveyres in a restaurant in Saraha, later accompanying her on a walk around the city. Could it be that Crown Prince Heinrik was there for romantic reasons?

MONROVIA - The President was hammered by questions by Parliament today over the Government’s lack of progress in retaking the country as many offensives have stalled or have been reversed. It has been about a week since military forces have gone on the offensive and have little to show for. While air strikes have been immensely successful in taking out the leadership, ground forces have taken casualties. Constant bombings, ambushes, and rioting by sympathizers demoralized and destroyed Planitan forces attempting to restore government control. Even with Antanaresian military support, the Government expects no major progress within the next month.

In the month long civil unrest, the rebels on both sides continue to establish footholds in the country. In the south, the Republicans declared a new nation, independent from the Federated Republics, simply named the ‘Republic of Planita.’ The self-declared nation is already operating somewhat like a real nation as it is attempting to draft its constitution. The ‘Republic’ appears to enjoy popularity as celebrations have been rumored. In the north, while no state government have fallen, the fighting is more intense. A spate of car bombings across Planita directly linked to the terrorists in the north. At least 100 people have been killed since the bombings began three weeks ago.

The President was questioned about the reality that was stated above. In a statement to Parliament, he stated “Our forces are doing the best they can to restore order to the states that have been taken by these rebels. While our forces have not performed to the best of their ability, I believe they are still capable to win.” On the subject of the Republic of Planita, he stated, “We will not recognize any government set up by these rebels. The only true Government is the one I am head of and no one else.” His speech did little to reassure Deputies and Councilmembers who see a naive President attempting to act big. “I regret voting for his appointment.” says Deputy Maren Walker, which is worth mentioning is not related to the President. “While I hold Mr. Walker in high regards, I believe that he does not have the experience to handle such a large crisis.” Indeed it is rumored that the President may be voted down by and replaced with a more competent official. However he is a Democratic Left member, whose coalition controls more than eighty percent of the National Assembly. With those odds it is rather unlikely such a dismissal would take place as a two-thirds majority vote of the National Assembly is needed. However tough times can sway opinions.

It was an acknowledged fact that the visit paid by Prime Minister Carl Van Houden in Velikogovolka, together with his colleague of Duresia, was not a common one: the sudden developments on the international stage, with the rise of the so-called Terran Movement, the problems with Anonymous and international terrorism, the crisis in New Atanea, the civil war in Planita, and all their consequences made clear the need for a stronger partnership between the most powerful royalist countries of the world, which share also the honor/burden to be top military and economic powers.
After weeks of negotiations, cultural and political visits, conferences and balls, finally some of the results of the visit has been revealed.
In a press conference held from the Palace of the Bruma, Prime Minister Van Houden announced that "New Tarajan and Antanares have decided to further strengthen their alliance and partnership to unprecedented levels."
Since the two countries are already bound to the Treaty of Brotherood, probably the strongest agreement ever made by two States, the statement came as a surprise.
Van Houden listed carefully the new initiatives which the two neighbours decided to undertake, and which will touch all the most important issues.



"New Tarajan and Antanares will give new life to strategically-relevant and technologically advanced infrastructure projects." Van Houden said: "As such, our top priority in the field is the strengthening of the contacts between our two countries."
The result is the beginning of the construction of the most advanced railroad of the world: the Astana-Velikogovolka Transnational Magnetic Levitation Railroad (AVelTrans for short) will be the first transnational railroad designed for magnetic levitation (maglev) trains and the longest one as well.


A masterpiece of technology, and a tribute to the scientific and technical achievements of both countries, the new AVelTrans will make possible the movement of around 100.000 passengers per day between the two capital cities with a maximum speed of 500 km/h (310 mph). The passengers will also enjoy the most sophisticated and elegant comforts desirable, with special wagons specifically designed for high-level customers and equipped with sofas, bars, and so on.
But also the common passegner will enjoy high-definition TV screens, integrated computers, and many more comforts.
In few words, the AVelTrans will simply change forever the way people moves from a city to another.
Although the first line will simply connect Astana to Velikogovolka (and Eindhoven, which is on the way), further lines are being designed: little by little, the system will connect every major city of Antanares, New Tarajan, Sdudeti-Karabak and North Ajania, creating the most advanced and efficient infrastructure web of the world.



"New Tarajan has always been admired for its aerospace industry" continued Prime Minister Van Houden: "But if there is a country on this world which really could be labelled as a nation of space explorers, that's Antanares."
Thus "the combination of these two forces could only make possible the most incredible advances in space exploration in the years to come."
The Tarajani and Antanaresian space agencies will indeed begin a new project of strict cooperation and active collaboration at practically every level.
Particular care has been given to the further programs of human space exploration: since years, Antanares has prepared itself to take the first human to Mars. And, now, New Tarajan will join this epic enterprise.
It will do it through the new railgun technology: Antanaresian and Tarajani scientists and engineers are indeed at work, in order to make it possible the use of this incredible technology as a way to easily bring from earth to space ships and other critical components for the space travel.
The Mass Driver Launcher (MDL), will be a critical step forward in the direction of human exploration of the Solar System. Its construction has been implemented as an integral part of the refit program of the Eindhoven Space Port, which will now be shared by both Tarajani and Antanaresian authorities.
Tarajani astronauts will prepare themselves to join their Antanaresian colleagues in the exciting adventure toward Mars, while scientistis and engineers will work together to create a new propulsion framework for the exploration vessels, thanks to the progresses made by the Tarajani Propulsion & Machinery Progress (PMP) program. The program itself will now be revived, and shared between the two countries, also in conjuction with other development projects in other fields (shipping, car manufacturing, military aerospace).
Also unmanned space exploration will be revamped: new, advanced probes will be designed to explore and chart the asteroid belts near our planet, and the most extreme regions of our system. A new space observatory satellite will be soon brought into orbit: its aim will be to analyze the presence of dark matter inside and outside our galaxy.



Another important field of action is the economic one: "We are devoted into increasing the economic links between our countries, two of the most powerful economies of the world" PM Van Houden said.
How? It's simple: "New Tarajan needs new markets for its financial sector. Antanares needs more money for its industry."
The decision of New-Zealand to join the "Terran Movement" has made impossible for New Tarajan to keep the trade and financial relationship between the two countries back at previous levels.
This practically meant that Tarajani capitals needed a new place were to be re-routed: and Antanares is a logical choice. The government of Velikogovolka is trying to further increase its presence in the world economy, and Antanares is already probably the No.1 manufacturer of the world.
An extremely stable country, an historical ally, a military, economic and political superpower: the Tarajani financial sector, the most powerful of the world, could not have hoped for a better partner.
While the main banks and financial firms of the Kingdom still wish to expand their activities in Eurasia, New-Zealand and other countries formally belonging to the UPS, Antanares offer to them the best way to invest their capitals without fears and risks.
The New Tarajan Investment Authority (NTIA) will open the path, with targeted investments projects which will give the ground for the bigger operations of the partners of the International Business Group (IBG).
From there, the path will be finally open for billions of Prands to come into the hands of Antanaresian entrepeneurs.


But New Tarajan and Antanares also wished to avoid further risks of a new economic and financial crisis. After the failure of the International Eindhoven Confernece on Global Economy, strongly supported by New Tarajan, Astana decided to change its strategy.
Thus, avoiding big, but unsuccesfull international meetings, new financial regulatory instutions will be designed through bilateral and multilateral agreements.
And this is exactly what the Tarajani and Antanaresian governments decided to do: the new economic partnership between the two States will be also formalized with the birth of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Tarajani-Antanaresian Development Bank (TarAnBank), which will provide technical consulting and assistance to governments, also helping the regulation of the system and avoiding new systemical crisis.
The IMF will have its seat in Antanares, while the TarAnBank will have its headquarters in Eindhoven, the economical and financial heart of New Tarajan (and, thus, probably the financial heart of the world), after an offer specifically made by the authorities of the Grand Duchy.



"The world is changing fast: new threats are rising against our security, our way of life, our own lives. We need to address all these threats if we really wish to keep living as free men and women."
These are the words used by PM Van Houden as the introduction to the announcement regarding the new cooperation between New Tarajan and Antanares in the field of security, a field in which both countries share common strategic interests and a long-standing partnership.
OMNI Enforcer and the Antanaresian military will create a new framework, under the aegis of the USC, for a series of periodic military drills and joint training exercises. In the words of a spokesperson of the Ministry of the Military: "Tarajani and Antanaresian officers and soldiers will critically improve their abilities to work together, fight together, and help each other on the field."
Standardized communication lines, equipment and weapons (New Tarajan already uses Antanaresian-produced personal weapons), along with new procedures, will greatly improve the capabilities of the two militaries to act in strong coordination on the most critical situations.
Links will be strengthened also between intelligence and police agencies: the key-word is "fight the terror".
"New Tarajan and Antanares will not tolerate any kind of threat against the safety of their citizens, their privacy, their rights to freedom." Van Houden said.
As such, the two countries will increase cooperation in fighting against the major terrorist threats of the moment, including Anonymous.
Informations will be shared, prisoners exchanged: the RHIELD already confirmed that, after a full-fledged interrogation, the Antanaresian citizen belonging to Anonymous and captured during a strike against an heaven of the terrorist group, has been already given to the ARROW Enforcer.
Exchange programs will also be established between the military academies of the two countries.
New Tarajan will also increase its provision of Rafale-Nariman fighter jets to Antanares (which adopted the model as the spearhead of its air force).



There is another field where New Tarajan and Antanares have a lot to share: culture.
In the words of Prime Minister Van Houden: "Our countries share a common cultural and historical ground which would be, in my opinion, a crime to neglect, while it could be a powerful boost for us to come to new levels of mutual understanding and friendship."
The two governments agreed in starting a new international exchange program for university student (Tarajani-Antanaresian Exchange, TARANEX), which will allow students from both countries to live as their colleagues in the most prestigious universities of New Tarajan and Antanares. Double-degree programs will be negotiated soon between the universities, while new academic initiatives will be launched in the framework of the new inter-governmental Committe for Cultural Exchange and Development (CoCED).



Meanwhile, a new important cultural and academic initative has come to life.
Under the auspices of the Tarajani, Arveyran, Antanaresian and Duresian governments, professors and scholars from all over these four countries (true hearts of the global cultural and intellectual activities) have gathered in Paris for the first round of the International Congress of Historical and Archaeological Studies.
The Congress will be a periodic initiative (to be held around every three years), distributed in many "rounds", each hosted by one of the countries which participate to it.
Many are the themes which will ba handled with by the most prestigious and brilliant historians of the world: from the legacy of Antanaresian chivalry in the development of the aristocratic way of life in Tarajan to the study of the evidences of early influence between Jahanism and Electranism, passing through the most recent discoveries in Ajanic archaeology, and many more.
Particular interest will probably see the intervention of Prof. Albert Van Gert of the Merlberg Royal Academy of History, and his Antanaresian colleague Prof. Helène Abencourt, which will present their recent discoveries in the field of ancient Arveyran manuscripts. Also, they will probably announce at the Congress the star of their new archaeological expedition in Meisjegronden.



During the conference in Velikogovolka, PM Van Houden also announced that "New Tarajan will host the official peace talks between the Planitan government and the rebel factions, in order to find a quick and satisfying solution for the civil war plaguing the country."
The talks will be hosted in Horatstadt, capital city of the Principality of Horat, after the House Rumi, governing it, offered the city as possible seat.
It's no surprise that New Tarajan has been chosen in the role of mediator: since the very beginning of the war, Astana has done its best to effectively help the government of President Walker, demonstrating its strict neutrality in the fight between republican and royalist extremists, despite allegations of the contrary unusefully brought by some other countries.
It was also the decision of Astana to address the Security Council to find a solution, and to establish the first UNE peacekeeping mission, the UNPKP, while also sending its diplomats to mediate with the royalist factions, thanks to the strong prestige it enjoys among them.
Now, the Tarajani Government will have to broke a definite deal: a mission of the utmost importance for New Tarajan, due the unprecedented proximity of the crisis to its borders (already demonstrated by the influx of thousands of refugees escaping from the war, and finding an heaven in the camps established by the Tarajani Red Cross and the authorities of the local States).
The talks will also be the test-ground for Van Houden diplomatic skills, something he didn't have the possibility to demonstrate yet, in spite of the great number of international crisis occurred since his appointment as Prime Minister.

TransEurasia released a statement today concerning the new railway that will be constructed between Eurasia and New-Zealand, which will connect the Asticus Peninsula to New-Zealand via rail, as well as connecting mainland Eurasia (a bit of a misnomer, as mainland Eurasia is an island) to New-Zealand. They went in to further detail on the information released by their counterpart, KiwiRails, that the railway will be two lanes, one fast and one slow. The fast lane will be largely passenger transport, which will move civilians to and from the two countries, and will be operated in the Eurasian portion by the TransEurasia subsidiary CFI, which is the premier luxury train corporation in Eurasia. The fast lane will also transport small amounts of delicate freight, but will focus mainly on passengers. The slow lane, conversely, will focus on the transportation of freight and cargo, and will be called "slow" as it will not utilize the maglev technology of the fast lane, mainly due to safety concerns regarding the heavier nature of the cargo.

The fast lane cars will utilize, as mentioned above, magnetic levitation technology to allow for them to move as quickly and smoothly as possible. The trains will be divided into four areas, or "sections". The first section will be "premier", or first class, and each first class cabin will be an entire train car, which will have a room for sleeping, a small conference room for business meetings, a wet bar, complimentary service, a HD Plasma screen TV, and a optional panoramic view provided by one way see through walls. The second section will be the "business" section, which will be smaller and less expensive than the premier section, and will feature HD plasma TV's, luxurious seating, and optional conference rooms if the necessity arises. Third will be the "standard" section, which will be normal seating with complimentary food and drink, as well as HD Plasma TV's. The fourth will not be available for the general public, as it is reserved for cargo and luggage.

The slow lane cars will be the standard freight cars mandated by the National Railway Authority, and will be able to transport vast amounts of goods between Eurasia and New-Zealand, and will not use the maglev technology. While it would allow for the quicker transportation of goods, the NRA explicitly bans the use of maglev technology for commercial transportation of non-persons, as it is dangerous with the increased size and weight of the cars.


The Ministry of Energy announced that Eurasia was not suffering from an oil shortage, unlike New-Zealand, mainly due to the adoption of clean energy and biofuels. Eurasian law banned the commercial use of fossil fuels in Eurasia in 1989 ECE, and all Eurasian cars now either function on electricity or biofuel. Eurasia still maintains an emergency petroleum reserve, but has been unwilling for some time to touch it or do anything with it. The main use of oil now is via the military, who still uses fossil fuels for heavy weaponry and machinery. The Ministry went on to say that current Eurasian reserves are sufficient for a prolonged deficiency, but added that "This is only for the current level of military activity.", meaning that increased military activity could mean a shortage of oil in the future. That said, currently Eurasia is not being affected by the shortage.



The military recently finished a series of tests on the experimental Gauss cannon, or as it is more commonly known MAC gun (Magnetic Accelerator Cannon), and the systems will now be mass produced to be put on Eurasian battle ships. The cannons, which fire a massive ferric tungsten shell down a magnetic assembly barrel, proved hugely successful in both Planita and Atanea, and the navy hopes that they will be on every battleship within ten years. The cannon operates by activating a set of electromagnets in a barrel, pulling the solid tungsten mass forward, and then switching off and activating the next set, propelling the mass to massive speeds with enormous kinetic energy. The military also plans to upgrade Eurasian coastal defenses to use only the MAC guns, which will render Eurasia possibly the safest in the world.


The experiments and prototypes also involved the smaller Gauss rifle, which is essentially a MAC gun on a miniature scale. The system is hugely effective at penetrating armor, much more so than standard rocket launchers. The military recently unveiled the latest anti-armor weaponry, but these will also be implemented in small numbers and will gradually scale out the current rocket launchers. The Gauss Rifle also heralds the change from gunpowder based technology to more advanced, simpler weaponry that will allow greater adaptability.

Continue the implementation of laser tech

After the recent diffusion of the new projects of the rifle destined to the armed forces of Antanares, most of them with incorporated the magnetic accelerated technology on a small scale, most of the people were curious to know how the tech will be implemented, if it will be implemented, in the armed forces. According to a note of the Ministry of Defense, the magnetic accelerated technology is considered "not necessary", it is write into an internal note "In bigger weapons. MONROVIA - A silence drifted across the front today as all forces announced that they are accepting a Planitan peace measure. As of now, a tentative peace has taken hold of the country with many civilians taking advantage of. However with the level of tensions in the country it is not known how long will it last.

It is not immediately clear how the measure was achieved. Heavy fighting between Republicans in the south and Royalists in the north has killed hundreds and displaced thousands. Indeed a Government report stated at the current rate of fighting there would no major progress for another three weeks. An anonymous government official stated that secret talks between the three sides began about a month ago when moderates Republicans approached the Government. They stated that while they wanted independence they believed it should be done in a non-violent manner. The Republicans stated that they have the leader’s ear and could possibly influence him. Without the knowledge of the President, the Deputies and the Republicans secretly made a temporary agreement. After it was complete it was proposed to the President and the rebel leaders. At first Mr. Walker was angry that the Deputies acted without his authorization, and refused to see it. Finally after convincing he accepted it as well as the rebel leader. Meanwhile the Royalists were much easier as they have great trust in New Tarajan and quickly accepted the proposal.

The Federal Government is to be represented by Chief Diplomat Patrick Smith, a veteran member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has seen many crises and this is just another. Representing the Republicans is Angela Mark, part of the government of the Self-declared Republic of Planita. Representing the Royalists will be Nigel Farage a member of the Popular Front.

The forces of Antanares stopped their operations in the south of Antanares after the start of the peace talks in New Tarajan. The forces of Antanares, a nation that is now observer of the peace conference, according to the ceasefire declared from most of the parties, stopped their current operations, returning in their defensive areas and reinforcing their bases, in case of a disaster at the peace takl. THE 9th Expedition Fleet continue with its blockade of all the weapons that are directed to the south area of Planitia, to avoid an eventually resupply of weapons and ammo from the rebels. The ARROW Enforcers present in the territory will maintain, according to a note of the command, a defensive stance, during the peace talks, maintaining the positions conquered during the last week of fights.
The forces of Antanares, that had collaborate actively with the CORE Forces to eliminate the threat of the rebels, conquered several strategic point during the last week of fight, thank to the intervention of mechs and massive air forces in the region, that covered the land operations and the special forces deployed behind the enemy line.
For now, in every case, the gun are silent and everyone wait for what would exit from the peace talks.

THE BIRTH OF AUOLIUS

Absjörn, Auolius. In the beginning, there was Auolius, a tiny, polluted, civil-war torn nation. It is bleached from existence from its former Hitler-Style government. The people left the war-raging nation, on ships. Many civilians were killed, murdered, and captured by the infamous Capitol. The mighty 16 ships sailed across the endless ocean. Many died of starvation, malaria, and scurvy. Until, one man spotted land. It was a archipelago, with a massive landmass to the west. They decided to land there, and explore the rest. The Auolesians decided to build a massive city, called Absjorn.

Policies were introduced. Military was on the rise. And corporations rule about half the economy.

FARANA (The Federal Astronomical Research Agency of New Atanea) has recently announced it’s approval to launch a programme that essentially involves sending an expedition in order to establish a colony and Terra-formation facility on Mars with the goal to make the neighboring planet’s environment hospitable for humans and ultimately open up new possibilities for mankind. The colonists would reach Mars with a space-rocket nicknamed “Setil” that utilizes the latest technological innovations recently developed and tested in Atanea. One of these technologies would include a set of plasma engines, which would reduce the estimated voyage duration of 4 years for standard engines down to just 5-6 months.


What is being said?

Journalists have attempted to get an interview from certain political figures but due to the secrecy surrounding the programme only a few have agreed to such, some of which being the Director of FARANA (Mavasi Byaletse), the Principal of the Drets Academy of Scientific Studies (Iliv Gajies) and Atanean Minister of Finance (Élanere Laurent).

“Atanea has been through alot the past years and now that it has become a new nation I think that our current agenda [the Martian Expeditionary Program] will serve best for Atanea as a fresh start”, said FARANA Director Mavasi.
“Already have we begun seeing other nations looking towards Mars and Atanea is not an exception as we’re ranked among Esamir’s leading nations, thus we should be an idol for lesser but growing countries in all aspects, including space exploration”, Iliv of the Drets Scientific Academy commented. “The national GDP has experienced the fastest growth in all of its history, so much that it’s even surpassing that of our ally Eurasia. So we’re left with more cash than we need in the government budget. We asked eachother, what should we do with it? That was decided in a meeting between the Atanean ministers, we believed it would both significantly advance our nation’s technological capacity and capabilities AND contribute notable increase in patriotism within the country. It is costly, in fact, it’s costlier than any war we’ve gone through, excluding the liberation of Atanosia. But our economy has more than quadrupled ever since the end of Snow’s regime and exceeded the economy of Atanosia so not only can we afford this, it won’t deplete the budget enough to be count as considerable” National Minister of Finance remarked during an interview.

What is the colony like?


The colony will be able to sustain itself with a few subsidies from Atanea from time to time. In the colony will be a compact solar panel farm, a plantation to grow its own food, water would be supplied from nearby glaciers etc. The colonists will initially reside in a small colony the size of a typical apartment but they will be taking construction parts with them used to slowly construct a proper,much bigger and sturdier colony able to hold at least 38 colonists but it would require 4 additional supplies provided by the government, delivered by unmanned rockets notably larger than the original rocket.

What is Terraforming?


Terraforming is the process of transforming a hostile environment into one suitable for human life. Being that Mars is the most Earth-like planet, it is the best candidate for terraforming. Once just the subject of science fiction novels, it is now becoming a viable research area. The famed astronomer and Pulitzer prize winner, Carl Sagan, says that there is enormous promise in the search for ancient life on Mars. If life was once sustainable on Mars, it is important to know what caused Mars to evolve into the cold and lifeless planet it is today. With this knowledge, we can terraform Mars by reversing the process.

FARANA scientists believe that it is technologically possible at the present time to create considerable global climate changes, allowing humans to live on Mars. But this will not be by any means an easy task. Raising the atmospheric pressure and surface temperature alone could be achieved in a few decades. This research has strong environmental implications for Earth. What researchers are trying to do involves global warming, a sort of greenhouse effect on the cold planet Mars. Scientists may be able to test their hypotheses about global warming in their attempts to elevate Mars' surface temperature. Likewise, once theories, they may be applied to our own planet in an attempt to reverse environmental damage done by pollution and deforestation.


Transforming Mars will be a long and complicated process. But this is exactly the type of subject that interests space researchers like Kristavan Alvez of FARANA Enia Research Center. First, greenhouse gases, like chlorofluorocarbons that contribute to the growing ozone layer on Earth, will be released into the atmosphere. This traps the heat from the Sun and raises the surface temperature by an average of 4 degrees Celsius. In order to achieve this, factories would manufacture chlorofluorocarbons derived from the air and soil. A single factory would require the power equivalent of a large nuclear power plant. The increasing temperature would vaporize some of the carbon dioxide in the south polar cap. Introducing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere would produce additional warming, melting more of the polar cap until it has been vaporized completely. This would produce an average temperature rise of 70 degrees Celsius. With the temperature this high, ice will start melting, providing the water needed to sustain life. This water would raise the atmospheric pressure to the equivalent of some mountaintops. While this would be a survivable level, it may still require the use of an oxygen mask. The next step, which may take up to several centuries, would be to plant trees that thrive on carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.

Iridium arrived on Mars

The ASS Iridium, the first officially space ship of the Federation is, at the end, arrived on Mars, the Red Planet of the Solar system. The ship is arrived around the 7 am of Velikogovolka, with one hundred people on bard that will substitute the current crew of the Mars Research Base Camp, named "Red Wing". The base will be expanded with new research modules, transported from the Iridium, and will be, for the next two years, the home of the crew. According to a communique of the ASEA, the space agency of Antanares, the Iridium will return at home in seventh months, landing in the main spaceport located in Cape Wolf.
The Red Wing Base Camp is the first human settlement located outside the Earth orbit and one of the most important steps for the human exploration of the space. The base, connected to the Earth thanks to a special probes system, continue, thanks to a little army of robots and drone, the exploration of the red planet and the studies about the planet. ASEA, into a recent communique, after the recent declaration of the space agency of New Atenea to start a work of terraforming of the planet, said "It is, of course, an interesting plan. But we don't approve the intention of our colleagues. Mars is a different world than the Earth and there will be, in the space, a lot of planets like the Earth. The statistic doesn't lie. We don't think start a project of terraforming of the Red Planet, to create another little Earth, is a good idea. We think the humanity, entering into a new phase of its develop, most consider that, sometimes, it is not the galaxy that must adapt to us, but we must adapt to our galaxy. Mars is a good planet, rich of occasion of research and study and we intend to preserve its integrity". The station's power will come from solar panels during the day and an emergency fusion generator if needed. Plans have been made for geothermal power, but this has not been implemented yet. The resupply shuttles will also bring habitation modules for more colonists to live in, and which will be added to the station.

The Imperial Colonization Authority (ICA), which is responsible for all colonization, will directly oversee the venture, alongside the Imperial Aeronautic and Space Administration (IASA), held a press conference on the matter, with ICA Commissioner Commodus Fortuitus saying "We are extremely excited to announce this colonization project. We hope that, with the eventual terraforming and habitats built, we can turn Mars from a hostile world into a livable home for humanity. The current upgrades have actually been ongoing in secret for some time, and they are almost done. We plan to have the habitats fully inhabited by the beginning of summer this year, and they will be continually expanded by resupply ships. This project is expected to cost the Imperial Treasury around $30 billion pesetas, but we are confident we will receive more than a return on investment when the planet is capable of supporting factories to terraform it."

MONROVIA - A poll conducted by a major media corporation showed “damning results” by the Scott Government. A poll found that only twenty-one percent of Planita approves of the current President, Mr. Scott and particularly his handling of the Planitan crisis. The President’s policies, or lack of policies, has been extremely irate to most of the populace surveyed. It should to be noted that only about half of the populace was surveyed as the other half remain in outside of their influence. This comes as the Federal Government is attempting to hold together an increasingly fracturing country while its fate is being decided outside of Planita.

Conducted by the government owned Federal Communication Corporation, the survey was conducted over a one week period. The bombshell report rocked an already unstable government fraught with indecisiveness. In a statement, the President stated that, “We are doing our best to work and stabilize the Planitan State to the best of our ability.” Patience is wearing thin however, especially within the Assembly. “We believe the President is not capable to handle the current crisis,” said Deputy Maren Walker, “He has proved his over and over again in these past few months.” A similar sentiment is echoed by some Republican rebels. In the peace conference in New Tarajan, the Republican delegate said, “We will concede to abandoning our requests for separate states only if the Walker Government is dissolved and a constitutional convention is called.” The delegate was quoted as saying that Mr. Walker is incompetent.

The Assembly is rumored that it will been hearings on the subject for the dismissal of the President. According to the Treaty of Monrovia, the Assembly needs to muster at least twenty deputies to sponsor such a dismissal. If it does in fact pass, it would need a two-thirds majority for the dismissal of the President to be complete. However the Assembly vigorously denies such a vote is taking place. Our sources however, say the opposite.  

The Social Democracy has announced that it will be the most recent to join the space race, joining other nations in colonising mars. The project will be undertaken by the recently resurrected NZSA (New-Zealand Space Administration). The NZSA will be following the actions of Atanea, Antanares and Eurasia in taking on this endeavor to colonies mars. Atanea was the first to launch their endeavor (2 months ago today), followed almost immediately by Antanares. Eurasia was the third to launch their operation, and The Social Democracy is the fourth, launching their mission today. 

Funding for the mission will come mainly from the government, pledging in excess of $400 Bn to the mission, with an initial upfront investment of $150 Bn NZDs. On top of this, the NZSA has been given the green light to take corporate funding (in the form of sponsorship, presumably for advertising purposes). The Chrysler Group has already pledged a $2 Bn sponsorship (almost 1/4 of their advertising budget), with many other private sector companies joining in. Overall, the NZSA has secured approximately another $60Bn in sponsorship and donations from private sector companies and members of the general public. In exchange all these companies get to be "officially endorsed by the NZSA", a big marketing bonus for companies operating within the Social Democracy, where patriotism is held close to the hearts of the public. Furthermore, companies can file these sponsorship's as tax exempt under the claim of "community service". 


Now, onto the mission itself. Whilst the other nations are attempting a more conventional approach, placing bases in the surface, either as massive metal buildings, large greenhouses, or individual buildings connected by covered walkways. While these plans are more straight forward, we are yet to understand the effects of the atmosphere, such as if it is capable of blocking out harmful radiation. Furthermore, apart from the fierce sand storms, which themselves are a problem, we have little to no understanding of the intricate environmental and weather patterns of the planet. As a result, the NZSA will be taking a completely different approach to the colony. The entire complex will be situated underground, like a massive underground shopping mall. This way, the colony will remain completely unaffected by the sand storms, solar radiation and any other ground side complications. By being underground, the complex will be in a stable isolated system, and the internal environment will be completely in our control. 

Lighting in the complex will be done by some specially designed lights, will will release UV, vitamin D, and essentially stimulate the sunlight experienced on earth. Water will be artificially purified and recirculated, with emergency Hydrogen and Oxygen tanks which can be used to produce water in emergencies. However, most water will have to be reused, with replacements being brought from earth on transports. The air inside the complex will also be artificially recirculated, however there will be massive "Gas Exchange" systems ground side which will undertake large scale artificial photosynthesis, which will gradually replace circulated air with newly created air. Allowing the complex to expand underground and not have to import air form earth, but instead new air can be created to fill the extra space. 

Geographically, the colony will be place relatively close to the Eurasian facility, allowing the two to co-operate together. The NZSA already announced they hope to work closely with the Eurasian Space Administration. The Eurasian facility is already being inhabited, and the NZSA facility is expected to begin construction immediately. Laborers working on the facility will be housed ground side, and will be able to move underground once the tunnel boring machines have excavated the area. All in all, the NZSA facility will be operational within 6 months and completed in 2 years. 

Who will be building the facility? Right now the New-Zealand Corrections Department has announced a deal with the NZSA that means all low risk criminals will be allowed to take time off their sentence if they agree to work on the construction for no pay. While some are likening this to slave labor, the government has simply called it "work experience for rehabilitation" and already over 100 inmates have applied for the opportunity. Of course in order to be accepted, they inmate must pose no risk to the general public and not be convicted for highly violent crimes.

Urbem Sol
The launch of the latest colony ship to mars, the ICA Arcadia, launched today from Solipsa to make its way to Mars, carrying new colonists and workers for the colony project. The station will also carry much needed rovers and other transportation vehicles to ferry colonists quickly around the facility, a well as certain necessary components such as pneumatic doors and other essential machinery that will allow the colony to become self-sufficient. Most importantly, the ship will bring much needed geothermal generators to sustain the colony. The IES-01, which has been codenamed Messis, or "Harvest", in Eurasian, has been currently operating off of nuclear power which, although reliable, is not a long term solution, mainly due to the need to continually remove waste. Thus, the geothermal generators will tap into the Martian core for power, allowing the station to more than meet its energy needs. Shielding will also be installed in the event that there is an electromagnetic storm that the Martian atmosphere is unable to successfully block, or to protect against solar radiation while the terraforming activities commence. While the station itself is produced from high-grade Titanium and lead, the new protections are a preventative measure designed to avert possible situations.

Plans for terraforming are also being discussed in Urbem Sol. The director of the Imperial Ministry for Space Exploration, or MSE, spoke before the Senate today to lay out the plans for terraforming the red planet. "Our plans are to build factories on the planet that produce greenhouse gases which, although dangerous on Earth, will help rebuild the Martian atmosphere and make it habitable for humans." The plan laid out would allow for factories to be built that either produced solely greenhouse gases or produced them as a byproduct of other manufacturing processes. The MSE will allow corporations to bid on being able to set up shop first, so to speak. The initial design of the factories would allow them to operate continuously via shifts of workers, and the Imperial Ministry for the Economy has announced they will grant subsidies to build the factories, as doing so is likely to be rather expensive. The Consul also expressed support for the terraforming, calling it "A noble goal for mankind."

What army does in Planitia?

With the peace meeting that continue in New Tarajan between the different forces on the field, the troops of Antanares, that were deployed since the start of the conflict in the south of Planitia, maintain their positions and with for something. After the declaration of the truce between the rebels and the government, the troops stopped all the main attack, completing their operation before taking a defensive stance. Nobody, really, thought the truce with the rebels could resist. But, for now, it stand. After little skirmishes between the two forces on the field, the forces of either the side maintaining their positions. The 8th and the 9th Battle Group, composed primary from mechs and light helicopters, excellent in rapid operations, took the control of the hills in the south of Planitia, covering the works of the engineers behind the line, occupied with the reparations of the main infrastructures in the territory under antanaresian control.

Will be Mars green or red?

Following the first Mars mission of Antanares, some nations developed their personal space missions for the colonization of the Red Planet. With the Iriudim on its way for the Earth for the second time and with a base of one hundred colonists, composed from ten different modules and with several rovers and robot all on the surface of the planet, Antanares is probably on the first line for the mission of exploration of the twin planet of the Earth. The base, self-sufficient thanks to a fusion power generator and with a series of greenhouses for the food supplies, is one of the most advanced project of Antanares, that will be linked with the Project Artemis, a project launched one month ago that would lead Antanares to another important step: the construction of a space colony, located on the L5 Lagrange Point between Earth and Moon.
But, with the space agency dedicated to both the projects, a difficult debate rises from the ASEA: Mars must be terraformed or not? ASEA conducted all the missions on Mars with the main goal to doesn't modify the planet, with the idea that every planets that could be found in the galaxy must be preserved, considering its peculiarities that, with a terraforming operation, will be lost, inevitably. Until on the Red Planet the only nation present was Antanares, the problem didn't presented but with the entrance of new nations on the hunt for the Red Planet and with all the intention of try to change the face of it, scientists are really worried.

UKZ SPEAKS AGAINST SPACE RACE

The UKZ Parliament has been In budget session and just as the debate on the Research and Development ministry was to begin the MPs raised concerns and questions regarding the zack stance in the already active space race.
The government made it's stance very clear through the minister of Science and Technology.

The colonisation of the final frontier is immoral. It is supposed to be free of human presence. Yes our curiosity will send us there for research. But we cannot aim to colonize.
The UKZ has the resources and technical know how to achieve something like this, just like other members of the international community. However we also have moral knowledge. Something that these countries lack.
What is the point of space colonisation other than a display of power?
My ministry will work in close collaboration with with the ministry of external affairs will put a stop to the colonisation of mars or any other planet or natural satellite.
Also we are proud to announce that the Zack Agency of Space Research (ZASR) will soon be launching UKZ's first satellite to mars.

This morning, FARANA launched the Messenger rocked aimed for Mars carrying 5 individuals whom will construct the first Atanean colony on the red planet, including the base for a terraformation facility. The news of the launch instantly reached the front pages on all the local newspapers as well as foreign but the first ones to celebrate this milestone were the staff of FARANA, evidently with a bottle of champagne.
The journey to Mars is expected to take approximately 6 months thanks to the considerable propulsion provided by its plasma-engines. Once the crew reaches their destination on the equator it will begin setting up the first colonial module, afterwards they will begin general studies of the environment. “At the moment, conditions will remain uncertain but for the time being we can simply enjoy the rest of the day and everyone can look out for updates on the mission which are expected soon” commented Director of FARANA in an interview. But not everyone has been positive about the mission, some speculate that the plasma engines haven’t been tested properly and might put the crew at a risk and there’s also the hostile climate of the red planet which may pose a constant threat to colonists. Despite all that, Ataneans are optimistic and predict the mission to go as smoothly as possible.




Rumors have recently been spreading about unofficial diplomatic talks going on between New Tarajan and New Atanea. Though no-one really knows what the talks may be about, some theorize that they are trying to relax political disputes due to their differences and others say that New Atanea may well plan on joining the Illidian union founded by Planita, Antanares and New Tarajan following a decline of the Atanean public’s opinion towards UPS. There is no knowledge of what may be being discussed about in the talks but rumors will always be rumors, so none can tell for sure.
